SALT LAKE CITY (ABC 4 News) - Devout Latter-day Saints are dressing up in their Sunday best clothing to march in a gay pride parade this Sunday.
The Latter-day Saints will carry their scriptures and hold up quotes from church leaders about messages of love and acceptance.

She says gay pride festival organizers welcomed her with open arms when she request to march. She expects about 100 people to march in her group.
"What we're trying to do is say we welcome you. We want you to be part of our congregation. We want you to feel safe in our pews," Munson said.
She is also sending a clear message to other Latter-day Saints. "We want people in wards all over the world to see us and say these folks are just like me," said Munson.

Do you think there are no protestants in the parade?
Solidarity.
I guess them Mormons feel that if gays can get the right to marry, then they are next in line to mary 3-4 women. Legally.
I think I’ll get me some purty lil’ sheep. And join the parade.
This is REALLY weird. Religions are getting to mean nothing after they find ways for the front office to make money.
OK, what does the Constitution say about homosexuals and why is the Federal Government involved?
The LDS church is migrating in the direction of the theologically and politically liberal denominations. Episcopalians in funny underwear.
The Mormons on “Sister Wives” fully support homosexual marriage.
1. It is a small group that “hopes” to have 100 march with them. I can find you a 100 or 1000 of any religion that will do the same thing.
2. The gays are NOT ecstatic. Look up this group and read comments. While some gays are saying it’s a good thing, many are offended even by this group’s statement that they want to approach gays with “understanding”. The whole gay movement has become an alternate universe.
The article is not about Christians...
These are Mormons marching in a gay parade..
We want you to feel safe in our pews,”
PU!
No I don't. I don't think are any true Christians of ANY denomination in this parade. By definition.
It astounds me that a small group of Mormons want to march in this parade, so people here now think the entire mormon religion is pro gay? It’s not even clear this group is pro gay. Gay comments on line are all about this group “patronizing” them, and about how evil mormonism is.
Well, with such fruit cakes as Hairy Read and Orrin (Booby) Hatch, what would one expect? No Catholics marching in this parade of sodomists, right?
I’m afraid that the LDS is an entirely new religion that differs by large leaps from Christianity.
This year, members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saintsincluding active and observant Mormonswill march in at least seven LGBT Pride parades across the country.
From Seattle, Washington, to Washington D.C., New York, Portland, Boise, San Francisco, and Salt Lake City, members of three different Mormon contingentsMormons Building Bridges, Mormons for Marriage Equality, and Affirmation: Gay and Lesbian Mormonswill walk during the month of June.
I smell a smear. Is it possible that Dems went out, found a hundred or so ex-Mormons, and are paying them to march in the parade, to heavy media coverage? The state run media will use it as a tool to paint Romney as old fashioned and intolerant. They will ask him, “ Your fellow Mormons are marching for equality. Do you support them? Why are Mormons so hateful and intolerant? Your great great great grandfather Hezekiah Romney had 6 wives. How can you deny your fellow Mormons the same right?”
The Latter-day Saints will carry their scriptures and hold up quotes from church leaders about messages of love and acceptance.

In other words the Mormon prophet is behind this ...
Mormons played a prominent role in getting Proposition 8 passed in California, and they are in Maryland gathering signatures for a vote to overturn the gay marriage law there.
You are going to get some people from an anti-gay marriage religion like mormonism pulling stunts like marching in gay parades, because some of thenm are gay, they have gay family members, etc. and gee, some are democrats like Harry Reed. There are also articles about former mormon pastors who have come out as gay.
