One in ten. It's the name of the group that puts on the Reel Affirmations gay and lesbian film festival in Washington, D.C., each year. It's the percent popularized by the Kinsey Report as the size of the gay male population. And it's among the most common figures pointed to in popular culture as an estimate of how many people are gay or lesbian.
What percentage of the population is actually gay or lesbian? A lower one than you might think -- and a much, much, much lower one than most Americans believe.
In surveys conducted in 2002 and 2011, pollsters at Gallup found that members of the American public massively overestimated how many people are gay or lesbian. In 2002, a quarter of those surveyed guessed upwards of a quarter of Americans were gay or lesbian (or "homosexual," the third option given). By 2011, that misperception had only grown, with more than a third of those surveyed now guessing that more than 25 percent of Americans are gay or lesbian.

What’s the word for when one is surrounded by hopelessly abject ignorance and stupidity?
Whatever the number, I’m not a gay hater, but the activist element is pushing an agenda to recruit more and more to that lifestyle. Gay adoption, gay schoolbooks, gay marriage, gays in movies and tv. Anyone who thinks all this isn’t influencing young people is ignorant of human nature.
1 in 10 yet just about all the new music you hear on “Top 40” radio today is geared towards homosexuals. Lady GaGa, 70s gay discoball music and prison queen rappers.

There was a recent survey taken, accurately done, that showed the homosexual population of the UK was right about 1.5%. I would say it is about the same for the USA.
But in America that 1.5% of the population contributes to about 65% of the reported STDs according to the CDC.
The “B” in LGBT is a clear appeal for straight people to try the gay lifestyle. I can’t see any other motive in pushing the “right” to have sex w both males and females. It’s an anything goes assault on traditional relationships. The goal is for everyone to be a slut, and of course to vote democrat as a placeholder for marxism.
They do a good job of reporting accurate numbers. For men and women it’s about 1% to 2% homosexual, with the percentage bisexual depending on definition but ranging from 0.5%-1.5% for men and 1%-4% for women. Three cheers for honest debate! The Kinsey and Shere Hite numbers were (I suspect intentionally) a vast overstatement of the actual rates of homosexuality.
That’s still too many.
Young people today think that the goal in life is to have sex with everybody and everything.
When I was in high school I had a friend who's father was "confused". He had some of the first "act up" type meetings at his house. The big thing that they wanted to push was to NEVER EVER allow anyone to talk about what they do with each other. Keep the physical activity off the public radar at all times and slug mouth anyone who talked about anal s@x etc. The push was to refer to "love" and the "feelings" gays have.
My buddy's dad would have these big gay parties. Sometimes down in the Montrose section of Houston. I was 16 at the time and those guys were all over me. That did them no good. I'd always get thrown out of the parties. I'd wait until they all got good and drunk then I'd ask "You put your thing in his backside then he turns around and puts it in his mouth?". I put it in a more colorful way. They had fits when I asked those kinds of questions.
Most of the gay men I met, and I met 100's, were all just about the most self-destructive and self-loathing people I ever met. They were really sad people. Today, as then, all I care about when it comes to homosexuals is that they just shut up. I don't want to hear it. There are very few of you so just shut up. Stop invading my space.

I wouldn’t say the Kinsey report is *totally* discredited. I believe that 10% of the prison population might be gay, which was where they got the number.
But I am being facetious. That number has been extrapolated to the public at large, and it amounts to junk science that’s worse than man-made Climate Change.
Nor do I care about how many homosexuals there are. But as far as “gay” is concerned, there are a hellofalot less Gay people now than there was whn obama occupied the White House. “Gay” means happy, not queer.
We saw this movie before in the early 1900’s. A minority group of Russian anti-czarists called themselves ‘bolsheviks’, which translates to ‘the majority’.
It’s an old trick, you lie about being the consensus until you bully enough people until you become the consensus.

People do this this a lot because of the media.
Because of media coverage many people think that about a third of America is black, that Jews are about 25% of America.
People here that keep up with numbers will remember that one of the results from post 911 coverage was that many Americans learned that instead of being a small religion of whites, that Christianity was the largest religion on the planet.
The statement that Christianity was the world’s largest religion used to get you laughed at.
