President Obama Shuns Lech Walesa
National Review ^ | June 1, 2012 | Rory Cooper

According to the Wall Street Journal, Polish officials requested that Walesa accept the Medal of Freedom on behalf of Jan Karski, a member of the Polish Underground during World War II who was being honored posthumously this week. The request makes sense. Walesa and Karski shared a burning desire to rid Poland of tyrannical subjugation. But President Obama said no.

Administration officials told the Journal that Walesa is too "political." A man who was arrested by Soviet officials for dissenting against the government for being "political" is being shunned by the United States of America for the same reason 30 years later.

Meanwhile, one of the recipients of the Medal was Dolores Huerta, the honorary chair of the Democratic Socialists of America. So socialist politics are acceptable, but not the politics of a man who stood up and fought socialism.

Lech Walesa EARNED his Nobel Peace prize. It would be too intimidating I guess.

Lech Walesa earned his Nobel Peace prize for opposing communism. I suspect that Obama has always seen Walesa as an enemy.

Now, who is the Freedom loving Patriot, and who is the real Communist?

Obama’s petty ego is still twitching because Walesa refused to support him and turned down his invitation to the White House when he found out Obama was a socialist. Walesa fought socialism in Poland. I would lay down a heavy bet that Obama deliberately insulted the Polish peoples. The man is dangerous to our national security and intends to ruin our relationships with every one of our allies and bust up the solidarity of nations fighting communism.

I hope the Obama is better than Romney crowd here looks in the damn mirror ASAP.

AIN'T gonna happen, not as long as they choose to formulate their myopic arguments as one which is based on "PRINCIPLES," and has as its core, "Social Issues," such as Gay Marriage, Abortion, etc.....AT THE EXPENSE of our National Security, our Safety, and our SURVIVAL....!

Though they frame their arguments going so far as to question those who will not accept them--or voting for Mittens--as being "Anti-Christian" or more delusional, "Anti-Patriotic" it is they who are willing to ignore the very real threat and danger (BASED ON EVIDENCE OF DEAR LEADER'S ACTIONS SINCE HIS CORONATION) posed if O'Bummer get's another 4 years to continue his attacks on Capitalism, Rights, Liberties and Freedoms as well as his "Capitualtion" and "Submission" to our enemies as he aligns himself ever more with those who would ("destroy our miserable house from within, by our own hand") replace our Consitution with Sharia (Muslim Brotherhood) and other Radical Islamists....going to far as to appoint and accept several members associated therewith, as advisors and high positions within his Regime.

Yes, while Social Issues are important to we Christians and we should never forego fighting for them, IF we have no Republic as we know it 4 years hence, how much good will that do us then?

To me (as a Vet and Patriot) the Security and Safety of the United States trumps all else. Perhaps that makes me a "Bad" Christian (Catholic) and if that be the case, I'll let GOD be my judge and so be it.

However everyone else decides to vote in November, the outcome will be on their/our/my conscience and I know that I won't have any regrets or have any trouble sleeping nights.

Will those who HATE Romney/Mormons and call for a boycott against Mittens--if their action helps reelect Barack Hussein Obama--be able to say the same???

Good grief. There is hardly a figure on earth who is more symbolic of real bravery that this man. and wasn’t didn’t he serve as a former President of Poland.

This is in the same category as returning Churchill’s bust to GB.

Apparently Walesa refused to meet with Obama when Obama visited Poland in May 2011.

Whatever his reason was, this probably lessened the chance that Walesa would get an invitation to the White House while Obama was president.

Of course, most Peace (sic) laureates oppose capitalism and liberty.

The kenyan boob has never been my President. I don’t recognize him as such, I don’t watch him, and I don’t listen to him.

“...AT THE EXPENSE of our National Security, our Safety, and our SURVIVAL...”

Explain to me how a self-avowed Progressive and admirer of Alinsky, one Mitt Romney, could be considered supportive of our national security, our safety, and our survival?

Romney is a Globalist, and doesn’t give a damn about our God-given rights as U.S. citizens. He sees himself as a citizen of the world, very much like BHO2.

This situation, fellow veteran, is the crux of the matter: neither candidate is much different one from the other. The question is, who of the two men should we believe will not follow through on their natural intentions?

Frankly, I’m outraged at the choice. It’s like choosing between the Devil and the Deep Blue Sea!
