Obama Is Losing Support Like a Sinking Ship
Newsmax ^ | MAY 31, 2012 | Wayne Allyn Root

As a well-known Las Vegas oddsmaker with a pretty remarkable track record of picking political races, I play no favorites.

As a matter of fact, I have no favorites in this race among Romney or Obama. I am a former Libertarian vice presidential nominee and chairman of the Libertarian National Campaign Committee.

My vote will go to Libertarian presidential candidate Gary Johnson in November, whom I believe has the most fiscally conservative track record of any governor in modern U.S. political history.

Without the bold spending cuts of a Gary Johnson or Ron Paul, I don’t believe it’s possible to turn America around.

But forget emotion. As a successful oddsmaker, I simply use my gut instincts and common sense to call them as I see them. Back in late December I released my New Years’ predictions.

I predicted back then — before a single GOP primary had been held, with Romney trailing for months to almost every GOP competitor from Rick Perry to Herman Cain to Newt — that Romney would easily rout his competition to win the GOP nomination by a landslide.

I also predicted that the presidential race between Obama and Romney would be very close until election day. But that Romney would win by a landslide similar to Reagan-Carter in 1980.

Understanding history, today I am even more convinced of a resounding Romney victory. Thirty-two years ago at this moment in time, Reagan was losing by 9 points to Carter. Romney is right now running even in the polls. So why do most pollsters give Obama the edge?

Not much a Romney fan either, but you must have pulled that directly out of yoass.

America can not withstand 4 more years of what we have now with the sureness it will get worse.

Paultype jerks better face the music, non-vote or anti-romney vote in Nov. will be a sure vote for nobama.

Why are you dumping on me? All I’m saying is that those who are into attaching the mark of devil on the Reagan will now do likewise to Romney.

Sheesh, bugger off.

Currently, I’m an ABO.

True, I was listening to Rush yesterday and he played the clips of the Joker and Bush at the WH, and I was stunned that the Kenyan literally blamed W for the state of the economy to W’s face...WHAT did W do, just smiled. FREAKIN IDIOT! He always seems to bent over and take it right on the pie-hole!! One reason I have come to dislike W! No guts no glory!! Now even my mother and family, who don’t like obama have swallowed the lie and blame W...I kid you not! When the depression occurs W and the pubs will be blamed and it will be too late to defend themselves. THE RATS will continue to rule and destroy this ONCE great nation! Consider the new name for America...USSA! :(

“Underestimate Obama’s chances for re-election at your own peril....”

“Bears reposting about 1,000 times
I wrote much the same things here all through 2008 when so many dwelled in fantasyland...”

Agreed. I’m cautiously hopeful that Romney will win. But it’s no slam-dunk yet, and a lot can happen between now and November.

Like most others here, I would enjoy (MORE THAN enjoy!) seeing Obama crushed and his administration totally repudiated by the American voters. But the country has become too divided for such lopsided victories. We now have a growing cohort of Americans — at least 40+% of the population, perhaps more — who are “bound to the leftists” by empathy and/or entitlements. There appears no route of reason or logic that will coax them to “see the light” and move towards our side.

In the “blue states”, their numbers are considerably larger. A poll (posted here yesterday) showed that in New York state, the current numbers are 53% for Obama, 31% for Romney. Assuming that nearly half of the undecideds break towards Obama, and he could win almost 2/3 of the vote in NY state.

If voters in such blue states will not surrender their allegiance to the ‘rats for someone as destructive to the country as Obama has been, what does that tell us? What does it forebode for the future of the country?

Then again, maybe I’ll be proven completely wrong, and Obama -will- get crushed in the election.

I’m not an oddsmaker like Mr. Root. But from where I view things, it’s a divided nation, c.1854, and things aren’t getting any better.

We’ll see...

I am going to crawl out on a limb here, I predict the election will not even be close and Obama is going to get trounced big time.

The polls are lies and then damn lies. Ask average Joe and Jane about Obama and they are going to give the usual expected touchy feely platitudes as demanded by political correctness. Hey, no one wants to be thought of as a racist for not liking and voting against the Black president.

And therein lies the problem for the poll takers and LSM interviewer’s of people. Said people will give the answers desired, but political correctness has created a nation of lying hypocrites who say they believe one thing, but will do the exact opposite when no one is looking.

I'm seeing 55-45 Romney.

It will need to be 60-40 Romney to overcome the massive vote-fraud that I think will occur. The Dems will NOT give up power without a fight.

From the article:

Black voters. Obama has nowhere to go but down among this group. His endorsement of gay marriage has alienated many black church-going Christians. He may get 88 percent of their vote instead of the 96 percent he got in 2008. This is not good news for Obama.

Hispanic voters. Obama has nowhere to go but down among this group either. If Romney picks Florida Sen. Marco Rubio as his VP running-mate, the GOP may pick up an extra 10 percent to 15 percent of Hispanic voters (plus lock down Florida). This is not good news for Obama.

Jewish voters. Obama has been weak in his support of Israel. Many Jewish voters and big donors are angry and disappointed. I predict Obama's Jewish support drops from 78 percent in 2008 to the low 60s. This is not good news for Obama.

Youth voters. Obama’s biggest and most enthusiastic believers from four years ago have graduated into a job market from hell. Young people are disillusioned, frightened, and broke — a bad combination. The enthusiasm is long gone. Turnout will be much lower among young voters, as will actual voting percentages. This not good news for Obama.

Catholic voters. Obama won a majority of Catholics in 2008. That won’t happen again. Out of desperation to please women, Obama went to war with the Catholic Church over contraception. Now he is being sued by the Catholic Church. Majority lost. This is not good news for Obama.

Small business owners. Because I ran for vice president last time around, and I'm a small businessman myself, I know literally thousands of small business owners.

At least 40 percent of them in my circle of friends, fans and supporters voted for Obama four years ago to “give someone different a chance.”

I warned them that he would pursue a war on capitalism and demonize anyone who owned a business — that he’d support unions over the private sector in a big way, that he'd overwhelm the economy with spending and debt.

My friends didn’t listen. Four years later, I can't find one person in my circle of small business owner friends voting for Obama. Not one. This is not good news for Obama.

Blue-collar working-class whites. Do I need to say a thing? White working-class voters are about as happy with Obama as Boston Red Sox fans are with the New York Yankees. This is not good news for Obama.

Suburban moms. The issue isn’t contraception. It’s having a job to pay for contraception. Obama’s economy frightens these moms. They are worried about putting food on the table. They fear for their children’s future. This is not good news for Obama.

Military veterans. McCain won this group by 10 points. Romney is winning by 24 points. The more our military vets got to see of Obama, the more they disliked him. This is not good news for Obama.

Add it up. Obama is losing support like a sinking ship. The leaks are everywhere, among virtually every group.

Paulbots never had any intention of voting for the Republican candidate no matter who it was. Cut and Run and his band of surrender monkeys have much more in common with the democrats than any Republican.

That is why I have always wanted the surrender monkey to run 3rd party. He would siphon of many of the obama votes.

That's not a limb...that's a branch big enough to support a house.

Only a tiny sliver of the American public has actually prospered under Obama. Everyone else in the country has suffered tremendously, and despite Obama's constant caterwauling to the contrary, it ain't "George Bush's fault."

The vast majority of Americans are hurting and frightened, and it's a direct result of what this one man has done. They will take it out on him at the polls this November, just as they've done to every other president who's ever driven down our prosperity and security in the past.

“most people feel good about themselves when they pick a winner so if they are led to believe a certain candidate is ahead, they will tend to vote for that candidate.”
//////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////

I don’t know whether it is really most but I do know that some are that silly. I don’t know what someone gets out of voting for someone simply because they think he is going to win anyway. I don’t care if I am the only person in the country not voting for Obama I will still proudly proclaim that I think he is a disaster and never intended to be anything else. Of course I am like George Gobel, I tend to spend a lot of time alone.
