(Business Insider) — Florida state officials will continue their quest to purge purportedly ineligible people from voter-registration rolls, a representative of Secretary of State Ken Detzner said Saturday, in defiance of objections from the U.S. Justice Department and county officials who say the policy violates two federal voting laws.
On Thursday, T. Christian Herren Jr., the head of the Justice Department’s voting section, said the effort to remove voters appears to violate the 1965 Voting Rights Act, which outlaws discriminatory voting practices that disenfranchise minorities. On a list of almost 2,700 voters the state suspects are noncitizens, blacks and Latinos were disproportionately represented, according to an analysis by the Miami Herald, which concluded Democratic and independent voters are the most likely to be targeted.
Despite the warning, Detzner’s representative said on Saturday the state intends to go forward with its campaign. “We have a year-round obligation to ensure the integrity of Florida’s elections. We will be responding to (the Justice Department’s) concerns next week,” Chris Cate wrote in an email to Reuters.

Wouldn’t it be great if Arizona, North Carolina, Florida - all states threatened and bullied by Holder work together and push back. If they all decide to tell him NO, what exactly can he do without seriously hurting himself and Obama’s chances. Maybe the Secretary of States and Governors in these states “get” that they are fighting for their existence and that four more years of this administration is unthinkable. If only . . .

I don’t know if I agree with that. He may have done more dishonest things because his boss is an out of control psycho who knows no bounds. Janet Reno may have done less criminal acts in number but they were real doozies in their time. The Branch Davidians, Elian Gonzales, the Wall to name a few.

Absolutely! For a couple of cycles kept a thread on the articles dealing with voter fraud as reported...where, when, who etc, (IIRC Alamo gal did something similar—better organized and more comprhelnsive— before that)

Call Holders bluff. Make them suspend federal aid or send in troops to enforce federal law. That’ll play well on ABCNBCCBSCNNMSNBCAP etc...
And let's not forget - the 2,700 is just the ones sent forward for potential action; they have about 186,000 that they think need to be vetted for purging. That's enough for Dims to swing Florida any way they want..
No doubt about it . . . the Great Uniter has done everything in his power to divide this country. The President who was going to transcend race has set race relations back 50 years (along with the help of his Attorney General.) Meanwhile, the media sits back and plays cheerleader. Thank God for the internet, talk radio and Fox - if all of this were occurring in the 1960’s, we would have Walter Cronkite convincing us that Obama truly IS the Messiah and we would be blissfully unaware of the manipulation going on behind the scenes.
