[I’d be curious to know what the main church hierarchy says about this.]

Uhuh. And how this...

...came to be the reality in the State Capital of America’s Islam.

The mormons are NOT Christians. They have the name Jesus Christ in the name of their church but they do not believe in Jesus Christ of the Holy Bible. They are deceived. Their beliefs come from the book of mormon that was fabricated by a man named joseph smith in the 1800’s. Go to hotm.tv - the Heart of the Matter Mormonism meets Biblical Christianity face to face - television program and website. You will see for yourself. I am a Christian, and I am not conforming to that way of thinking.

“A conversation about how we can avoid inflicting that kind of harm on human beings again,”

These "conversations" inflict harm on religious people.

Their need to have these "conversations" is a form of Sexual Addiction. We should file a class action suit for Sexual Harassment.

“The LDS church has been criticized for being anti-gay, recently surrounding the Prop.8 measure in California.”

Which is why this story shocks me. Something is not right here. If the Mormons fought so hard for Prop. 8 why would they turn around and do this?

It was a gay pride march in liberal gay friendly SLC, and some Mormons participated.

The Mormons that participated obviously would not support Prop 8, but the greater LDS community did and got criticized.

SLC is fewer than 200,000 population in a metro area numbering millions.

SLC is a relatively small part of the greater SLC metro area, and includes the university, etc. plus some liberal sections. The city has elected liberals for mayor for example.

I think the article said 300 Mormons marched. Almost any hurch has its liberal dissidents, and Mormonism obviously does as well.

I’ve read that less than half of Catholics believe or follow their church’s rules, so I’m not amazed that Mormonism is not a monolith, either. Some of them smoke, drink, etc.

Methinks if you Romney/Mormon-haters try real hard

Me thinks you are the first to inject Romney into this thread.

For whatever sick reason, conservatives shoot their own.

Only when they are pretenders, like you. Democrats on the other hand are united because they are all of the same cloth, crooks to the core. I imagine the GOP as infected as they are will soon be more corrupt.

I live in a state where it won't matter one whit who I vote for, but it will not be Romney.

• 1,713,823 of those who served in Vietnam were still alive as of August, 1995 (census figures).
• During that same Census count, the number of Americans falsely claiming to have served in country was: 9,492,958. (Those who actually served in country amounted to 2.7 million)
• As of the current Census taken during August, 2000, the surviving U.S. Vietnam Veteran population estimate is: 1,002,511. This is hard to believe, losing nearly 711,000 between ’95 and ’00. That’s 390 a day.
• During this census count, the number of Americans falsely claiming to have served in country is: 13,853,027. By this census, FOUR OUT OF FIVE WHO CLAIM TO BE Vietnam vets are not.

There are few of us left and likely the will be my last vote and it will not be for Romney, thank you for your service, but as you can see from the above, you were not alone.

The "Church" is not behind this at all. the story itself states, "Over 300 active Mormons". WOW, they got 300 liberal Mormons in a City where there are literally hundreds of thousands of practising Mormons.

It is likely that many of those three hundred will be called in at the local congregations by their Bishop and be counceled with. If they persist or indicate that they are actively supporting this lifestyle, they will be subject to Church discipline which could mean excommunication from the Church.

The Church teaches that gay/lesbain behavior is a sin and not to be promoted. People can be gay or lesbian inclined and still be members, but they have to repent and live a cellebate lifestyle and not fornicate. If they repent and the blood of Christ is sincerely accepted and adopted, then their hearts will change and ultimately they will adopt a normal, smiled upon by God lifestyle and seek companionship and marriage according to His Word.

She’s not dead.

We can and must fight to get her back. This election is as important as any in our lifetimes in that fight.

we have to do it at that level and hopefully avoid the resort to arms...at the same time, these libs must know that we are capable and willing should the violate, subvert and seek to over-ride the Constitution, in order to maintain our liberty and our way of life which, along with the Constitution is based on fundamental moral principle...which the behavior shown in this articel abjectly violates. Both the laws of Nature and God’s law.

What a sick display and an embarassement for Salt Lake City...which is precisely why they choose to hold their sick, disgusting spectical there (I WILL NOT call that garbage a parade).

Jeff, I consider you a very patriotic, truthful and honorable man.... so I will try to be a gentleman in my response.

Whatever the Mormon church is going to do, they need to do it quickly, with strength and make it public, or their brand is going to be changed and significantly damaged by the actions of these sickening perverts.

Regardless of all of that, I would like to be wrong on this, however for today, I do believe that the America I once knew and loved is now dead.

This country is not the America I was brought up in, she is no longer the country that I knew and loved... but regrettably, it is where I must live out my remaining time on this rock.

I am reminded that I have never been one that could run and hide from a storm, rather, I learned to face the storms and dance in the rain. I see a mighty storm coming on the horizon for this country.... and I grow weary of the dance.

“Freedom is a fragile thing and is never more than one generation away from extinction. It is not ours by inheritance; it must be fought for and defended constantly by each generation, for it comes only once to a people. Those who have known freedom and then lost it have never known it again.” ~ Ronald Reagan, from his first inaugural speech as governor of California, January 5, 1967

Ronald Reagan’s warning about losing our freedoms echoes down through a generation of lost momentum and squandered opportunity.

We now have the most ignorant electorate in the history of American elections. I believe we have the most corrupt government and media our country has ever seen.

I have never been a democrat and I no longer consider myself a republican, but I am a conservative to the core.

If Romney wins, and I now think he will, I will not celebrate his victory. If Obama loses, and I believe he will, I will buy an expensive bottle of brandy and a piece of apple pie. I will head to the seashore before sunrise, sip brandy spiked coffee (I am not Mormon.. lol ) and enjoy my pie.... while I listen to the roar of the crashing waves, the beautiful singing of the seabirds.... I will smile and watch a new morning in America. One might call that a celebration. ;>)

I long for the morning that I wake up and see Obama out of our lives. Unfortunately, on that day corruption will still not be dead and without a leader that is willing to go through D.C like a crazy man with a meat cleaver, corruption will survive this inconvenience and fight on.

In any case, Americans will get the country it apparently wants and a country it so richly deserves.... and there will be much regret.

Cheers,

Dan

Thanks Dan, for your kind words and your sentiments.

I agree almost 100% with them, accept I do not believe the Republic is dead.

She is sorely injured. She is teetering. She has been beset by the willful perversion of her laws and values by internal enemies intent on bringing her down over many, many decades. The very fact that this effort has continued on, unrelenting, for much longer than I have been alive (I am 56 years old), as taught to be by my own parents who were patriotic, God-fearing, Constitution loving and abiding Americans to the core, tells me that the force behind it is as evil as it is timeless.

Luckily, the force supporting America is equally timeless, but stronger in good than the adversary is in evil.

There are tens of millions of very patriotic Americans left in this country. They showed what they are capable of in 2010. I hope they double down on it in 2012 and show the same again. That will give us all hope.

And Hope is a powerful tool when coupled with faith, and with the Hand of Providance which has smiled on this land in times past, and Whom, I believe, still desires to do so if we give Him the reason.

It is true, there are many reasons not to...but as He showed in times of old, He does not need it to be a super majority...He just needs even a faithful remnant...and I believe we still have that.

We are in fact however staring down the barrel of a loaded and cocked liberal/leftist/perverted/ marxist weapon.

I believe we can stare it down and overcome it. But it is not going to be easy, it is going to take a lot of hard work, and I suspect within our life time or that of our kids or grandkids it is going to lead to very tough imes when their mettle will be tested as our fathers were in the World Wars, and as their grandfathers before them were tested in the great Civil War, and as their grandfathers before them were tested in the Revolution.

I’d prefer oit were us...but ultimately, that decision is not ours to make. Those were very difficult and hard times will be skewed more torwards abject moral depravoty than force of arms...though in the end, it may come down to that anyway, as it has in the past.

I penned an article about how I felt regarding all of this:

AMERICA AT THE CROSSROADS OF HISTORU
http://www.jeffhead.com/crossroads.htm

God’s speed, and HIs blessings to you and yours.

Proof of the point....You have decided that I am a pretender because you and I do not agree on some things. I have found that the people who yell the loudest and are the most unreasonable tend to be leftists. I have always been willing to discuss differences with anyone. Hard to do that when someone else is busy calling names

For the record I did not vote for Romney in the primary.

Thanks for the input!

Yea I forgot about the liebral media. 300 show up and that is a big deal to them. The medial always inflates the numbers. Might as well been the entire Mormon population in Utah as far as they are concerned.

Jeff I sure hope the bishop calls them on the floor for this. They don’t realize it but they drug the whole church through the mud by doing this.

Sadly, with some of the far left liberals in the Church (like with the extreme leftists in the Catholic Church) I suspect they know quite well that they are muddying the entire church and embarassing it, and this is exactly what they want to do to somehow try and force the church to adopt the perverted, decadent ways of the people they are supporting.

It’s not going to happen. Even if they had large numbers (which they do not...it is an extremely small percentage of LDS members who would ever take part in anything like this) it would not happen.
