SANFORD, Fla. - The dean of Harvard law is saying that the special prosecutor in the case of George Zimmerman, the neighborhood watchman who shot and killed 17-year-old Trayvon Martin, has threatened to sue the school for comments he made about the case.

In a story Alan Dershowitz published on Newsmax, he said State Attorney Angela Corey called Harvard University, threatening to sue the school because of comments he made on the case.

According to Dershowitz's article, Corey accused him of slander and libel.

Dershowitz has criticized Corey's handling of the Zimmerman case on national television.

Usually not a fan of Dersh, but he’s the sane one in this battle.

Corey has a really thin skin. As a lawyer she should know it is next to impossible to win a slander and libel case if you are a public official. I am sure Dersh will school her on that too.

“Corey accused him of slander and libel.” That proves that Corey is an effing, pandering idiot. Apparently the truth hurts. I agree about Dershowitz. In this case he hit the bullseye.

I’d love to see that go to trial. It’s time to retire Corey. Send her back to ambulance chasing. Maybe Crump will hire her sorry ass.

Like I said on another thread, it would seem that Ms Corey is well on the way to making herself a dangerous enemy.

He usually doesn’t get involved until a case is being appealed.

She can partner up with retired Charlie Crist and share the Tampa ambulance runs with him.

Just more evidence that Corey is depraved.

She should be at home knitting sweaters for her grandchildren. Her press conference was more like a bridal shower than anything else.

Wow, is Angela Corey going to sue many of us on Free Republic, too?

I don’t spend much time defending Alan Dershowitz, but this lady might have looked at his track record in court, before antagonizing him....

We have been given a glimpse of Corey's M.O., along with that of many other prosecutors. She has succeeded in chilling the exercise of free speech among the weak and unprincipled in Florida. This time will be different.

Why is Dershowiz using Newsmax to get his views out? He should have spoken to the WSJ.

threatening to sue the school because of comments he made on the case.

In her world she talks and everyone else listens. Clearly she doesn't want the public at large to know the facts of this case and what is really going with her filings. I hope the reporters keep pushing for release of information --

One lawyer suing another lawyer? There is no downside to this. Can’t think of a better way to keep each of them occupied. Long may they persist.

I’m becoming a Dersh fan... He’s standing totally alone on that Harvard campus - standing for what’s right - and beside a man with absolutely no power. We owe you, Dersh. Takes backbone.
