BELLEFONTE, Pa. A jury dominated by people with Penn State loyalties was selected Wednesday to decide Jerry Sandusky's fate in the child sexual abuse scandal that rocked the university and led to football coach Joe Paterno's downfall.
The seven women and five men who will hear opening statements on Monday include an engineering administrative assistant at Penn State, a dance teacher in the continuing education program and a professor who has been on the faculty for 24 years.
Also: a Penn State senior, a retired soil sciences professor with 37 years at the university, a man with bachelor's and master's degrees from the school and a woman who has been a season ticketholder since the 1970s.
Sandusky, a 68-year-old former assistant football coach, is charged with sexually abusing 10 boys over a 15-year span.

While I understand that Penn State school loyalty can be pretty strong, I would hope that it would not interfere with objectivity. If innocent, or even if there is insufficient evidence to prove guilt, Sandusky should be acquitted despite the damage to Penn State’s reputation. If proven by the evidence to be guilty, a predatory pedophile should be locked up forever with no possibility of parole. I’m not sure where schools ties would even have the potential to influence that decision.
So the fix is in........
This is not going to go well. It will be a mistrial. there is no justice anymore.
I was going to comment negatively on your presumption of guilt, but I just read the Grand Jury Report. If true, and there seems to be a whole lot of victims and supporting witnesses, this guy is sick, sick, sick.
Yes.
No, you have to understand the area - it's impossible to pick a jury without Penn State connections. It's in rural Central Pennsylvania, there's nothing else there, the entire town of State College exists solely because of Penn State, and the small towns around it are of course filled with people with Penn State onnections or who work there.
It would be like trying to come up with a jury in Dutch Harbor Alaska that had no connection with the fishing industry, or a jury in Bentonville, Arkansas that had no connection to Wal-Mart.
WHO CARES!!! We have a Communist in the White House (from Kenya) and we are wasting time on this stupid case? WHO CARES!!!
He’s gonna walk.
Sandusky knows where the bodies are buried, he will take down a lot of bigwigs if he talks.
Penn State is in a college town in the middle of no where in the Pennsylvania mountains. Everyone within a 25 mile radius has ties to Penn State.
Which is why prosecutors motioned to have the trial moved elsewhere. They were denied. The fix does indeed seem to be in.

Are more people beginning to see why Ray Gricar, then the Centre County DA, decided not to prosecute Sandusky in 1998 simply for showering with two boys with no genital contact? Gricar would have been required to prove beyond a reasonable doubt (to a jury like this) that Sandusky was doing it for sexual gratification.
In 1998, Sandusky was an acting Penn State football coach and had been for over 30 years, and had been the defensive coordinator for over 20 years.
I believe Gricar saw a 'no-win' situation given who Sandusky was, what Gricar had to prove, and the community's love for all things Penn State but especially Penn State football - and as Gricar's nephew says, Gricar felt he was being stonewalled in his investigation by Penn State.
Is there anything more disgusting than a same-sex child molestor? Maybe the same-sex molestor and consumer of human flesh?
Ask yourself, which same-sex group formed an international organization devoted to the rape of young boys? This same group has been welcomed and marched openly in “gay” pride parades for years. Where is the outrage NAMBLA.ORG. Membership in nambla is merely an extension of the “gay” lifestyle that yet remains in the closet, but we all know it is there.
