A same-sex ceremony between a lesbian couple in the base chapel at Fort Polk in Louisiana has created a storm of controversy among conservative religious leaders and a growing number of lawmakers on Capitol Hill.
"The liberal social experiment with our military continues," Rep. John Fleming (R-LA) told Fox News Radio. "A same-sex marriage-like ceremony should not have occurred at Fort Polk, especially since the people of Louisiana have made it abundantly clear that our state does not recognize same-sex marriages or civil unions."
"It was kept quiet," Crews told Fox News Radio. He said the service was conducted in the military chapel, under the authorization of the chaplain's denomination.
So if the same-sex ceremony was approved by the military why the outrage?
"It raises the issue that Louisiana is a state that has a clear definition of marriage," Crews said.
Rep. Todd Akin (R-MO) authored legislation that would prohibit same sex ceremonies on any military base. The House approved the bill but the Senate has yet to take action. Akin told Fox News Radio that it doesn't matter what you call it what happened at Fort Polk was a gay marriage.
He accused the Obama administration of "trying to drive their liberal and gay agenda through the military."
"The federal law specifically prohibits this and even the advocates of going to same sex marriage in the military said they were not planning to do this. In every regard this is over the top," he said. "In every regard this is over the top but I think it reflects the general direction that Obama and the liberal Senate want to take things."

I saw some weird and troubling things at Ft. Polk, especially during POW and E&E training at ‘little Vietnam’, but I never anticipated something like this.
The Obama supporting “pastor” who performed this “ceremony” should be court-martialed and kicked out of the Army.
I got married in that same “post” chapel.
Not sure how the chaplain legally signed a LA marriage certificate though in this case.
State domestic law will be challenged like this, or by having a same sex couple married in, say CA or MA, move into a state without same sex marriage merely to establish residency in order to file for divorce and thereby open up a challenge there.
The legal effort to force acceptance of same sex marriage is unrelenting and has only one antidote - a Federal Constitutional Amendment which either prohibits same sex marriage or exempts states from federal equal protection standards with respect to definition of marriage.
What is done at the state level does not matter, it's merely a diversion of energy. The only approach for those who wish to prevent same sex marriage has to be at the federal level, and it will have to be a Constitutional Amendment, and soon.
Good luck with that once the fags take over the J.A.G Department.
Slippery slope reminder:
1999-JUN-9
by a joint statement of 13 conservative Christian groups.
In the words of Paul M. Weyrich, president of the Free Congress Association:
“Until the Army withdraws all official support and approval from Witchcraft, no Christian should enlist or re-enlist in the Army, and Christian parents should not allow their children to join the Army. An Army that sponsors Satanic rituals is unworthy of representing the United States of America.”
The fags are pressing hard. They have to be furious and in your face to make inroads. This should backfire on them. I for one am sick of the fag agenda. I am ready shut the fags down. Go into a room with 100 people, one of those is a fag. Pretend it is a cockroach.
For sure. But what we CAN expect is that any chaplain who REFUSES to officiate a queer marriage will be court-martialed and kicked out of the Army.
It’s coming....
Exactly why I will NEVER again recommend the social laboratory, AKA the military, to any young person again.
The “marriage” is void, not just voidable. Even if Ft Polk is exclusive federal jurisdiction, DOMA is still on the books even without being supported. It’s a show.
A perverted, disgusting, heretical, morals-flouting show.
Colonel, USAFR
Oh, for God’s sake, gator, not this sh*t again! We interpret and enforce law and policy and we try to get to where the commander wants to go within the strictures of law and policy. Our client is (in my case) the Air Force, not the commander, even if the commander is a four-star. That’s not to say we don’t get the BS from the top, but I’ve never, in 26 and a half years, been ordered to do anything in violation of law or regulation.
Colonel, USAFR, JA
Amen to that.
The wife and I were married at Ft. Belvoir but the marriage license was issued at Fairfax County, VA. I believe a marriage license is still required to get married legally.
It was always intended that same-sex marriage would achieve its “legitimacy” through the military. That’s what propelled abolition of don’t-ask-don’t-tell.
It’s a classic back door maneuver, You’re welcome for the pun
When the Reprobates and their President use a Military Base located in a State that clearly does not recognize same sex fraud it can only signal their utter contempt for our Military and for the LAW. It is open rebellion.
The only military installations where this MIGHT BE ALLOWED is in a state that allows sodomite “marriage”, and that is still being challenged by the military. Louisiana is not one of those states. This pastor was not authorized to perform the ceremony.

Yeah, but still. Even if fag marriages were allowed in a leftist state, what right does the Army have to demand that a chaplain perform that marriage ceremony? What right does the Military have in demanding a chaplain ignore the fundamental basics of the Bible and shut up on the sins of homosexuality or else face a court-martial?
“This pastor was not authorized to perform the ceremony.” What happens next when this pastor is ORDERED to perfom the ceremony?
As I said. It’s coming.
So, how about bringing smoke on the post commander, garrison commander, training center commander, or whomever?
There might be a Gen. Casey-style PC pro-gay Army Chief of Staff in the chain, but this was a local action. If it was directed from on high, then identify the commander’s, CG’s, or Army Secy’s policy memorandum that enabled this outrage, and haul their @ss before the House Armed Services Committee and know the reason why.
The dam just broke in Wisconsin. No one should have to fear the Left anymore.

Hitler rants about DC Comics turning the Green Lantern into a sodomite and homosexuals marrying each other.

That’s exactly what needs to happen. And thanks for your service.
