Holder admits Axelrod, White House helped Justice Dept craft Fast and Furious public relations strategy By Matthew Boyle - The Daily Caller 1:32 PM 06/07/2012

Attorney General Eric Holder admitted on Thursday that President Barack Obama’s chief campaign strategist David Axelrod and the White House are helping the Department of Justice craft its messaging about Operation Fast and Furious.

“We [Holder, Axelrod and the White House] have certainly talked about ways in which we could deal with the interaction between the Justice Department and Congress — about ways in which we would,” Holder said in questioning before the House Judiciary Committee.

Virginia Republican Rep. Randy Forbes pressed Holder further by asking him if Axelrod, Obama’s re-election campaign and the White House were involved in crafting the DOJ’s policy for dealing with press. He said they were. “In terms of trying to get any message out that was consistent with facts and make sure it was done in an appropriate way, I’ve had conversations like that with people in the White House.”

Forbes was pressing Holder on the recent reports that he and Axelrod almost got into a physical altercation in the West Wing in early 2009. Holder said the allegation that he and Axelrod almost fought — before Obama’s senior adviser Valerie Jarrett broke it up — was slightly mischaracterized. Axelrod was reportedly trying to get Holder to hire political staff to influence law enforcement. Holder said the conversation was about a communications strategy, “not hiring decisions.”

“We talked about not hiring decisions, but ways we might improve the ability of the Justice Department to respond to political attacks coming my way,” Holder said of the incident, adding that he considers Axelrod a “close friend of mine.”

I thought Axelrod and Holder got into a cat fight? Least that’s what we’ve been ‘told’.

My bet is that Zero has already signed the pardons for the in-house deadbeats...

Drip... drip... drip...

We just might see the dam break here, and Holder and his boss in leg irons before the election.

It's the only hope the rest of the Democrats have of not being annihilated in November.

The very first American Attorney General who will need a general purpose pardon to cover all acts he’s ever committed.

Yep, if he'd just tell the truth he wouldn't have to 'craft' anything.

Stedman a/k/a Holder should be indicted, tried, convicted, and sentenced to death for treason. For many reasons, not just Fast and Furious. Simple as that.

No doubt that Zero will sign the pardons.

Question is will Romney pardon Zero? Must not happen.

You know, "craft" isn't a word I would use to describe what they did to come up with this plan.

"Hatch", maybe.

So the strategy at this point might be best to not have anyone actually convicted of anything until after 1/20/2013 so they have to serve their time?

I have a better idea. Hand him over to Mexico. They would love to have a “talk” with him.

Anybody doubt that a defeated or re-elected Kenyan won’t issue a pardon for Holder?

...general purpose pardon to cover all acts he’s ever committed.

Can that be done? Can the POTUS issue pardons before there have been convictions?

If so, why can't Holder just shoot Issa during the next hearing?

I believe there is a 5year waiting period

per office of Pardon Attorney:

“Under the Department’s rules governing petitions for executive clemency, 28 C.F.R. §§ 1.1 et seq., an applicant must satisfy a minimum waiting period of five years before he becomes eligible to apply for a presidential pardon of his federal conviction. The waiting period, which is designed to afford the petitioner a reasonable period of time in which to demonstrate an ability to lead a responsible, productive and law-abiding life, begins on the date of the petitioner’s release from confinement. Alternatively, if the conviction resulted in a sentence that did not include any form of confinement, including community or home confinement, the waiting period begins on the date of sentencing. In addition, the petitioner should have fully satisfied the penalty imposed, including all probation, parole, or supervised release before applying for clemency. Moreover, the waiting period begins upon release from confinement for your most recent conviction, whether or not this is the offense for which pardon is sought. You may make a written request for a waiver of this requirement. However, waiver of any portion of the waiting period is rarely granted and then only in the most exceptional circumstances. In order to request a waiver, you must complete the pardon application form and submit it with a cover letter explaining why you believe the waiting period should be waived in your case.”
