No, she’s playing a very smart political game. She knows the Catholic Church is now a persecuted minority. She knows the bishops have no de facto authority, that they are paper tigers as far as the mainstream culture is concerned. She knows they know that and that for that reason, they either remain impotently silent or the speak, equally impotently.
She holds all the cards, culturally and politically speaking.
Of course, sub specie aeternitatis, she’s up against Someone who won’t be taken in by her meme.
But she probably doesn’t even believe in that Someone. She’s created her own Someone after her own image. Some day she’ll learn the truth, but right now, in human and political terms, she holds the cards and the bishops are essentially helpless.
They need to act but when they do, it will only bring on more direct persecution because the only Catholics who will listen to them and stick with them will be the ones marching with them to prison. The rest of the pseudo-Catholics will become enthusiastic prison camp guards.
Pelosi killed off a LOT of farmers( for a danged river smelt) in California’s central valley. She killed off a lot more contractors for a field mouse in the South Bay, and she’s killing freedom to worship and freedom to CHOSE in the biggest church on the planet. She speaks for no one except the little imp in her neurotoxin imploding cranium.
I have no respect for Pelosi, but if she is lucky enough to make a sincere confession on her death bed and receive the last rites, she will have as much of a chance of heaven as any of us do.
She may have to spend a long time in Purgatory, but at somepoint she will be allowed in heaven.
Very good chance, that some, not all, in the Church have socialist tendencies, the Bishop of Washington, DC comes to mind.
