Heat-Thunder should be epic Finals [Another Reason to Root for OKC]
Houston Chronicle ^ | 6/12/12 | Jerome Solomon

This should be a fun NBA Finals.

Lebron James vs. Kevin Durant has me as intrigued as any individual matchup we’ve had since Olajuwon-Ewing or more so a couple years earlier in Jordan-Drexler.

This is the 12th time in NBA history that the players who finished first and second in the MVP voting will meet in the NBA Finals. The MVP winner is 9-2.

Oklahoma is arguably the most conservative state in the Union. Results of the 2008 election show it was the ONLY state that had NO COUNTIES vote for Obama. Every other state had at least one area that went for the Kenyan communist.

So far, IMHO, much of the press has made this out to be a series where the only real question is, “Will Lebron prove once and for all that he is the god of basketball, or not?” On the other hand, to their credit, it looks like most of the ESPN commentators who actually played the game are picking OKC.

I think it’s a toss up. But I love what it is doing for my city.

Thunder Up!

As if there wasn't enough of a reason to root against Wade & Co...

Anybody but Lebron and Miami.

OKC sure has done well in a very short time as a NBA team.

I am hoping Durant and the Thunder will keep me tied with Lebron for the number of NBA titles won.

I’m rooting for Seattle to make LeBron a prophet about Miami winning “Not one, not two, not three, etc.” championships.

As a Texas native, I cannot bring myself to root for a team from Oklahoma, so I am refusing to admit the Supersonics have moved.

As a fellow Texan, why the hate on Oklahoma? I like Oklahoma, I think of Oklahoma as our more conservative little brother. Now Arkansas, that's a whole other matter.

Hate is a strong word for what I feel. I would say I have a morose feeling toward the state.

Amen - at least they’ll sell you gas in Oklahoma if you have Texas plates! I recall that issue when UT played Arkansas back in the day - advice was to bring a jerry can of gas, because the stations wouldn’t sell to cars with Texas plates that weekend.

The Thunder beat my Spurs, but I’m rooting for them to go all the way, ESPECIALLY against “King” James.

As Ohioan still sour grapes on LeBron(and I followed him since 8th grade). Dont wish him harm but wish him humility.

Thunder is a great group of athletes & OKC is a wonderful community & OK a great state. My bro lives there and I love the visits to area & the fine people

HERE IS A GOOD SITE for info on the finals/series

Go Thunder!!!!!
