If their color was different, these charges would have never been brought.
That’s it. Any matter of influencing voting or “sending a message” to the citizenry is secondary at best. They want a conviction and they don’t care how they get it.

I have wondered about that from the beginning of this fiasco.
This Zimmerman case seems to be another avenue for Obama to drive a wedge between the Black Panthers and “Whitey”; although they’re having to stretch to cast Zimmerman as “Whitey”.
Blacks, hurt most by Obama’s antics, will continue to be “all in” for him to the tune of 97% come voting time; but I think their attitudes are likely to backfire on them big time eventually. Whitey’s getting tired of it.
Today, at a store, I held the door open for a black woman who was exiting the store using a walker, in order to keep the door from smacking her as she exited. In so doing, I was trapped behind the door until she got herself and her walker all the way out. - She immediately started castigating me for being in her way as she tried to get to the rocker behind the door (on display for sale).
I realize she was most likely tired, maybe in pain from walking on the concrete floors in the store, and she just wanted to get to the rocker as quickly as possible. . and I was trying to get out of her way ASAP . . and all that only took a very few seconds. I did tell her that I was just holding the door open for her, but rudeness seemed to her to be justified.
If all of us white people are racists, how come we hate this judge, Angela Corey and all the white media reporters pimping Trayvon’s baby picture? I guess we’re not racists after all!
They have no case so they're going to get him somehow.

wow this angela corey is really desperate to win via subterfuge.
For those who don’t know, it is very very very very very very rare to have a perjury arrest in any case.
In fact there has never been anyone arrested for not showing up to jury duty that was noticed MAILED.
This is a credibility attack.
