Obama: Republicans Left Me With The Check For A Steak Dinner
RCP ^

Posted on 06/13/2012 12:24:59 PM PDT by sunmars

At a fundraiser on Tuesday, President Obama said the debt and deficit her inherited is "baked in" structurally. "If they start trying to give you a bunch of facts and figures suggesting that it's true, what they're not telling you is they baked all this stuff into the cake," Obama advised his supporters.

"If they start trying to give you a bunch of facts and figures suggesting that it's true, what they're not telling you is they baked all this stuff into the cake," he said.

"I love listening to these guys give us lectures about debt and deficits. I inherited a trillion-dollar deficit. We had a surplus, they turned it into a deficit, built it into a structural deficit that lasts for decades, and -- isn't that something?" President Obama said at a fundraiser today.

"This notion that somehow we caused the deficits is just wrong. It's just not true. Anybody who looks at the math will tell you it's not true. If they start trying to give you a bunch of facts and figures suggesting that it's true, what they're not telling you is they baked all this stuff into the cake with those tax cuts and a prescription drug plan that they didn't pay for and the wars," he said.

"So all of this stuff is baked in, with all the interest payments for it, it's like somebody goes to the restaurant, orders a big steak dinner, martini, all that stuff and then just as you're sitting down, they leave and accuse you of running up the tab. That's what they do," he said.

I wonder why they never mention that during the last years of W’s administration that the Demoncrats controlled both the Senate and the House? W’s fault?

Geez, does he ever not speak in cliches? Can we, just one time, have an actual fact or figure from him?

Anyway, for the sake of argument, let’s assume what he is saying is true, then his ass needs to be fired soonest because he is obviously too incompetent to do anything about “the mess”. He has had more than 3 years, and he has still not “unbaked the cake”? He is just whining about it...like someone complaining that the dog crapped on the kitchen floor, and he is standing in it spreading it around with his feet. Typical ineptocrat.

The crybaby president begged for the check that he and his lefties in congress ran up.

He shouldn’t have run for the job that he wasn’t qualified to fulfill the position.

Concur. I would love to get my hands on the “Close Hold” Dem Strategy for the 2008 election after Bush was elected in 2004. I will bet there is mention that the US economy must not look good, unemployment should be on the rise, gas prices must go up.... They needed and wanted an economic crisis to bolster their chances. Just as the Dems wanted the War in Iraq to fail under Bush they wanted this country suffering economically.

“After he ate the steak he ordered a case of Dom Perignon, an ounce of cocaine, and a lap dance.”

Yeah but it was a special lap dance; the pole dancer had to be a tranny named Lawrence.

We are witnessing a complete meltdown in real time. The liar-in-chief blames everyone except himself, and is hoping that this last ditch effort of homespun folksy snippets of “conventional wisdom” will somehow stick.

Bush kept the war costs separate from the budget.

It was Obama who folded the costs into the budget and thus baked it into the cake. And Obama did the same thing with the stimulus bill. Both became part of the baseline expenses for the next year.

When did Obama ever ask them to reduce the spending. NEVER.

In other words, everything that went wrong in the past 3 1/2 years has been Bush’s fault. Should Obama really be bragging about being so massively inept that he hasn’t been able to change anything in his entire first term?

Let me know when he can produce his request to Congress to cut any spending.

Obama needs to explain why the deficit was low until the Dems took control of the house and senate. Then when NObama took the white shack it got incredibly worse.

Funny how they ignore that historical fact. I guess it doesn’t fit in their pass the buck attempts.

The structural deficits are caused by the big 3 entitlement programs: Social Security, Medicare, and Medicaid. All three were passed by Congresses controlled completely by Democrats, and signed by Democratic Presidents.

Obama's contribution to the structural deficits caused by these three entitlement programs was to create a 4th -- ObamaCare.

Brilliant.

“If anyone has one clue as to what the hell he is trying to sya, then let the rest of us know because i’ve never heard such a lame analogy or rambling blame in all my life.”

You put it much nicer than I would have. I watched and literally said to myself, “WTF!” Talk about starting to melt down....

Funny because I just attended a town hall with NJ Gov. Christie. He has a solid dem legislature to deal with, yet he could go on and on how he reformed the pension funds, cut spending, wants to lower taxes further now that the previous huge shortfalls are coming into balance.

But Obama after 3 1/2 years and a Congres that was his party didn’t accomplish any of that and can only whine that it’s somebody else’s fault.

Christie also blamed the mess on his predecessors, except big difference he is cleaning up the mess. Obama isn’t.

Yeah, it's something alright. Something you usually shovel into the garden.
