That there is a cliff coming up and that, maybe, they don’t want to be driving when we hit it?

This has to be a joke.. When do cuts ever materialize? Especially that far down the road!?!? This is BS!

Wouldn’t bother me if the Republicans raise taxes on millionaires as long as they get cuts in exchange. Of course, I’m not a millionaire.

Any Republican who does not realize this is political suicide is too stupid to hold office.

Why don’t they ask George H. Bush how that worked for him?

Nothing would surprise me anymore but I would want to understand the specifics and which senators are involved. There is never any reason to raise taxes but doing so now makes absolutely no economic or political sense.

This is why so many don't trust republicans.

These republicans are not true conservatives!!

Fight, damn it, fight these liberals the way they fight you.

Awww, what's the use.

We've got a Massachusetts liberal republican running for the White House, a moderate to liberal republican speaker cry baby in Boehner and a liberal progressive majority in the senate.

It is what it is!

Charlie Brown, football, Lucy. If they are that gullible and stupid our nation is truly sunk.

Discussing Repubs are reportedly considering Dem proposal to pass budget through the Senate that would allow an increase in taxes now for a promise to cut a greater amount down the road.

Been there, done that, got the screw job!

Unfortunately, the 'Pubbies are dumb enough to buy into this. We've been here before (remember "Read my lips, NO NEW TAXES!"?*) and are still paying the price for it.

Hopefully, the eGOP will remember the last time they climbed into bed with the Dems on this and will turn it down.

But, I doubt it.

* - It turns out that what G.H.W. Bush actually said was "Read my lips, NO NEW TAXIS!" and didn't really say anything at all about taxes.

(Yes, it's a joke!)

Cue Charlie Brown and the football. It should be the reverse. Cuts now and if they occur then perhaps tax changes.

The Dems ambushed Ronald Reagan the same way too. No, no, no. No tax hikes without spending cuts FIRST!

Right - whenever politicians spend public money like no tomorrow guess what? Have to raise taxes to pay for it.

Kabuki Theater's gone improv. The political party that pretends it's 2 parties has painted itself into a corner.

Tax hikes now and cuts never. In other news, the sun rose this morning and is expected to set later.

Wimpy: "I will gladly pay you Tuesday for a hamburger today."

Democrats: "I will gladly support your spending cuts next century for a tax hike today."

As soon as conservatives-Tea party made some headwind, these Republicans gotta mow us down at the knees.

Can’t have the momentum build up, you know.
