Last week, President Obama said "the private sector is doing fine." This was not reassuring to those of us who suspect the Democrats haven't the first idea what "private sector" means.
He did not help matters by becoming lachrymose over the suffering of public sector employees: "Where we're seeing weaknesses in our economy have to do with state and local government. ... And so, if Republicans want to be helpful, if they really want to move forward and put people back to work, what they should be thinking about is, how do we help state and local governments ..."
When Democrats say the public sector is suffering, they mean public sector employees have half the unemployment rate of the rest of the country -- 4.2 percent compared to 8.2 percent.
Obama's monumentally idiotic statement has led his media defenders to recycle Mitt Romney's alleged "gaffe" from several months ago, when he said: "I like being able to fire people who provide services to me."
But that was not a gaffe at all -- except as deceptively edited by the media to end after the word "people." (Only Donald Trump enjoys firing people, and by the way, people love watching Donald Trump fire people.)

Are you insinuating that she’s Lebanese?
I, for one, have bought all of Ann's books, but not any more.
This is a good article by Ann, but it doesn’t read like she wrote it. Interesting.
And you know that how....?
Barry is absolutely correct about state and municipal governments being in trouble. Thanks to the collusion between politicians and public employee unions they have have run up ruinous pension obligations without putting aside enough money to pay for them. Some cites most of the real estate taxes go simply to pay for retiree benefits.
(sorry .. it just fit in with your reply)
When democrats envision the 'private sector' they think 'large building - hundreds of top (white) executives earning $200,000 each, 40 women earning %16,000 a year ( and doing most of the work) and 6 black men earning $12,000 being discriminated against on a daily basis...
State and municipal governments are in trouble because they have WAY too many counterproductive bureaucrats and meddlers. We need police, firemen and teachers. We need folks to maintain our roads. We don’t need six guys standing around watching one guy work. Or 2.3 “other” educrats for every classroom teacher.
She dated Bill Maher for a long time, I think she is a closet liberal, with a man’s adams apple.
Who cares if she’s a lesbian. She’s OUR lesbian.
I still like her.
I liked Pim Fortuyn too.
The sad part is Ann used to own this site, by now people would be asking for pictures to be posted, I see no such requests. In the past an article from her drew 200-300 replies, this one will be lucky if it gets 50. More then likely some posts will have to be deleted by the mods.
But alas, some will try to post her drivel here in hopes of reviving her following, but we have not forgotten what she has done.
