Pentagon plans to hold Gay Pride month event By Jeremy Herb - 06/14/12 05:17 PM ET

The Pentagon is planning to hold an event celebrating Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender (LGBT) Pride month.

The move comes less than a year after the Defense Department’s “Don’t ask, don’t tell” policy toward gay and lesbian service members was repealed.

Pentagon spokeswoman Eileen Lainez said the Pentagon is planning its first event for LGBT Pride month, which will be held later in June. Details about the event had yet to be finalized, she said.

The event for Pentagon employees comes after the “Don’t ask, don’t tell” policy, the 1990s policy wherein gay service members could be kicked out of the military if they disclosed their sexual identity, was repealed last year.

The repeal, passed by Congress in the 2010 lame-duck session, has been implemented thus far with few reported issues from the U.S. military.

The repeal of DADT was one of President Obama’s biggest policy victories for the gay-rights community.

Obama issued a presidential proclamation at the start of the month declaring June LGBT Pride month, where he talked about the repeal of DADT.

"Because we repealed ‘Don't ask, don't tell,’ gay, lesbian, and bisexual Americans can serve their country openly, honestly, and without fear of losing their jobs because of whom they love," Obama wrote.

Do any noble institutions remain, or have the rats soiled them all?

I think they've just about crapped on everything noble and good in the US. Sure hope the 'rat traps work in November.

Promoting Vice-—Sodomy.

Government is supposed to promote only Virtue——Justice is a Virtue and Sodomy should be spurned for the evil and destructive unnatural act that it is.

If sodomy is “good”, then evil is good-—this eliminates logic and reason and science from our military and institutes irrational Marxist ideology which states that there is no teleological end to sex-—there are no Laws of Nature and Nature’s God——there is no God-—is unAmerican AND UNCONSTITUTIONAL.

We no longer have a military Under God-—it is under Satan/Marx/Barney Frank. We no longer have Justice—which is always a Virtue.

Promoting Atheism/Satanism over Christianity is destroying Religious freedom.

I have been called a bigot and racist for my views. Ok fine!
How or why has the issue of sexual preferences has become equal to ethnicity or gender. Sexual preference is now another affirmative action group.Soon LGBT will fall under ADA, the civil rights act will be modified to include LGBT.

See the following article in relationship to this one about “gay pride day” in the military. The military pushes it’s various social emphases vigorously whether black awareness, female awareness, etc. Support of those emphases is a bullet on one’s efficiency report in terms of supporting equal opportunity.

In my opinion, this is terrible, terrible news, and what follows means it’s happening no matter who wins this fall.

see the following article:

Mitt Romney Says He’s OK With Openly Gay Military Service

BY ON TOP MAGAZINE STAFF

PUBLISHED: DECEMBER 10, 2011

Mitt Romney has said he’s OK with repeal of “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell” and as president wouldn’t work to reinstate the policy.

The 64-year-old Romney made his remarks during an interview with the Des Moines Register’s editorial board on Friday.

“Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell” is the recently ended policy that for 18 years banned gay and bisexual troops from serving openly.

When asked, “How do you feel about gays serving openly in the military,” Romney answered: “That’s already occurred and I’m not planning on reversing that at this stage.”

“But you’re comfortable with it?”

“Um, I was not comfortable making the change during a period of conflict, by virtue of the complicating features of a new program in the middle of two wars going on, but those wars are winding down and moving in that direction at this stage no longer presents that problem.” (The video is embedded in the right panel of this page. Visit our video library for more videos.)

Among the GOP presidential candidates, Romney is in the minority on the issue. Former House Speaker Newt Gingrich, Minnesota Rep. Michele Bachmann, former Pennsylvania Senator Rick Santorum and Texas Governor Rick Perry have all previously said they would bring back the military ban.

SO glad hubby is retiring very soon.

I pray that the current soldiers can weather this period of BS and our country returns to sanity soon. If not, we just need to prepare for mutiny, or the disinegration of our Armed Forces.

When my dad was in the army, if they found out someone was a sodomite, it meant an immediate dishonorable discharge. There’s no more shame about such a filthy practice...now the very people charged to protect our country WANT it within their ranks. WANT it!

I’m serious, I just want Jesus to come back because I have had just about all I can take.

Some soldiers have a thing for MILFs. Should we have events for them? Or do we just accomodate those who engage in anal poop-sex?

Just trying to figure this out.

This trash has absolutely no place in the military! We’ll be as hokey as France if we can’t pull ourselves back from this edge soon. Why don’t we just give the boys some spandex fatigues and white flags.

I know for a fact the NSA sends out emails to the entire agency every year to celebrate National Gay and Lesbian Awareness/Pride month and reminding people to be tolerant etc. But the email is definitely to celebrate the month...so this does not shock me.
