How come his mothers skin is bright while her sons is way darker?
Everything about Barry seemed different to his classmates and first-grade teacher, Israela Pareira, at S.D. Katolik Santo Fransiskus in Jakarta, Indonesia. He came in wearing shoes and socks, with long pants, a black belt and a white shirt neatly tucked in. The other boys wore short pants above the knee, and they often left their flip-flops or sandals outside the classroom and studied in bare feet. Barry was the only one who could not speak Bahasa Indonesia that first year. Ms. Pareira was the only one who understood his English. He was a fast learner, but in the meantime some boys communicated with him in a sign language they jokingly called Bahasa tarzan.
When [his mother] Ann accompanied him to school the first day, Ms. Pareira was confused. He looked like he was from Ambon, one of the thousands of islands comprising Indonesia. It was nearly 1,500 miles east of Jakarta, and the people there were known for having darker skin. In itself, this was no big deal; the classroom was heterogeneous: Javanese, Betawanese, Bataknese, Padangnese, Ambonese, Christian and Muslim, Hindu and Buddhist. But he did not look like his mother.
She introduced herself as a foreigner, coming from Hawaii, and she pointed at Barry This is my son. We me and the students who saw them for the first time only asked ourselves, How come his mothers skin is bright while her sons is way darker? It was a big question for us. But watching her drop him off at school [day after day], we became used to the idea that Barry is her son.

Love the byline.
wierd
While still barely breaking the surface, this article seems to be more details of The One’s history than we got in 2008 from the MSM. This is the first time I’ve seen anybody from his Occidental days quoted, albeit an obvious fellow traveller.
If he was Elizabeth Warren’s son he could be a half-breed.
“Wow, he’s sooooo ripped! How is it possible that a man could be in such great shape?!?! His physique is sooooo amazing! We are all sooooo jealous!”
At least that’s how I remember the commentary from the idiot media when that picture came out. Wondered if any of them had ever been to a gym, or participated in a road race or triathlon. You see men his age and older every day who put him to shame.
Interesting?
OK that's today's spewie award. Well done!

Is this school “St. Francis of Assisi”?
In another thread (I think “Morphing 0 Biography” one) Sven claimed Neal Boortz’s sister taught 0 at St. Francis of Assisi (sp?)
Can anyone verify if Boortz’s sister taught school, and if so, when and where?
From the article:
“A few years later,Barrys seventh-grade teacher,Miss Kang,posed eight members of her class for a yearbook photo in front of a blackboard that had the white-chalk message MIXED RACES OF AMERICA and a caption that read: Whether youre a Tamura or a Ching or an Obama,we share the same world. Barry,looking pudgy-faced,sporting a paisley shirt and the beginnings of an afro,flashed the peace sign.”
Anybody have an UNREDACTED picture of this event?
I recall a pic got posted on FR with some of the captions blurred out. Don’t remember which thread though.
Santo = Saint
Fransiskus = Francis
Boortz is now Espicopalian. Family was military so they moved around a lot.

From Boortz own words:

He lived in Indonesia, for crying out loud, for much of his childhood; that and Hawaii. Well guess what? I lived in Hawaii too, and I can tell you that as a student in Hawaiian schools you werent exactly saturated with American culture and history. Hawaiian history? Sure. And thats understandable. Hawaiians are very proud of their heritage. But U.S. history? Only what the schools absolutely had to include. And that private school, Punahou, that Obama went to in Honolulu? Heres another guess what? My sister taught there; right around the time that Barry was a student. Again not a place where youre going to learn what a blessing it is to be an American and a citizen...
...snip...
OK
St. Francis of Assisi school is in INDONESIA.
Punahou is in HAWAII.
Per Neal Boortz’s comment in the post referenced, his sister taught at Hawaii NOT Indonesia.
Sven, do you have information to the contrary??
Where does it say Boortz’s sister did not teach in Indonesia?
Episcopalian? When I lived in Atlanta he was Presbyterian. I remember he attended the same church as some friends of ours. Where is he attending now?
Jane Fonda was Methodist and attended the same church that other friends attended.
And if we went shopping at the right time we might see Elton John shopping at the Peachtree Battle A&P.
It was a small and interesting world. :)
