Republicans Struggle To Respond To Obamas Immigration Decision Aaron Blake 06/15/2012
Just hours after word leaked out that the Obama administration would stop deporting young illegal immigrants who were brought to the United States by their parents, the issue is already causing headaches for the Republican Party.
The party, which has previously split over its own presidents efforts on illegal immigration reform, is similarly stuck when it comes to Obamas decision.
And at a time when party unity is paramount, the move is exposing fissures.

The company line from Mitt Romneys presidential campaign and prominent senators like Marco Rubio (R-Fla.) and Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.) Friday was a process argument, in which they decry the decision to make the move without Congresss consent.
I believe the status of young people who come here through no fault of their own is an important matter to be considered and should be solved on a long-term basis so they know what their future would be in this country, Romney said in a statement to reports in Milford, N.H. I think this action that this president took today makes it more difficult to reach that long-term solution, because an executive order is of course just a short-term matter.
A statement from Rubio made a similar argument: Todays announcement will be welcome news for many of these kids desperate for an answer, but it is a short-term answer to a long term problem. And by once again ignoring the Constitution and going around Congress, this short-term policy will make it harder to find a balanced and responsible long-term one.

Good Grief.
The response is simple.
Impeach the dictator son of a b*tch.
We don’t have kings in this country, so remove him, you bunch of useless sissies.
Sarah did. but she is a conservative.
I am truly afraid that this is going in a direction that is not going to be pretty at all.
How about a nice clear statement like:
“As long as careful records are kept about these temporary work permits, there will be no problem immediately deporting them on Jan 22nd when I reverse this illegal Executive Order. The laws of this country will NOT be selectively enforced when I am President.”
We thought the same way. From now on his perceived “The right thing” will be used as a dictator’s directive. He basically made congress moot this afternoon.
As long as careful records are kept about these temporary work permits, there will be no problem immediately deporting them on Jan 22nd when I reverse this illegal Executive Order. The laws of this country will NOT be selectively enforced when I am President.
Perfect!
Struggle hell ... impeach. This asshole is disregarding the Constitution, he is going against all that is constitutional ... if the House doesn't Impeach this POC, they should all be dumped.
This coming election is not only to determine the future direction of our Republic but also to see whether Republicans have the leadership to lead us out of our present situation. It might also be the determination as to the mere existence of the Republican party.
As always, the GOP is MIA when it matters.
Where is Boner????
The House Speaker should be running TV adds all next week hammering the president for treading on Congresses role. I would body slam Obama. I would have an add showing the Constitution, that Congress makes laws and then end with, “and President Obama taught Constitutional Law? Are you kidding me? Has he ever read it?”
We got at least one guy that doesn’t seem to be struggling.

We have to do what we did when W tried to shove amnesty down our throats - get on the phone with our spineless representatives and help them grow a backbone!
This issue is not so much about immigration as to whether Dumb’O gets to rule by fiat. If he gets away with this, there will be no stopping him.
It's obvious the Dems want illegals for their votes, that's obvious. But is the GOP so tied to big business that the demand for cheap labor overrides the desire for enforcement of immigration laws? Is it a simple case of big business sending campaign donations (or as I like to call them when discussing illegal immigration, bribes) to the GOP in exchange for the status quo? Are the financial benefits of illegals greater than the cost it brings to the taxpayers? How much of a percentage of the financial troubles of California are due to illegals?
Does the GOP really believe that not discussing illegal immigration will win them some votes from Hispanics? Are they that scared? When has the GOP ever won the majority of the Hispanic vote? I highly doubt they ever will win a majority or even a significant amount. And if demographic trends continue, the GOP will be in serious trouble in the future to win anything. And what will the GOP say then?
Perhaps back in the 80s, very few anticipated the problem would mushroom into what has become today. Perhaps Reagan believed that no more would come. Perhaps both Bush's believed as well. I doubt it. I just find it hard to believe that the GOP thinks they can win a significant percentage of Hispanics by not addressing the issue and enforcing the law. How has that worked so far?
Very depressing to see the GOP so willing to participate in its own demise. I guess money trumps all.
struggle to respond?
my respond would be to filing impeachment charges against 0bama along with fraud, forgery and identity theft.
i would also level conspiracy to commit fraud at pelosi, reid, and the heads of the hawaiian dept of health
anything short would undermine the rule of law and the validity of the Constitution
There’s no way the Senate would go along with it.
“Why would Obama wish to break up so many families” should be the obvious response. After all, Democrats forcibly deported Elian Gonzales to a COMMUNIST country to reunite him with his dad.
The RINO Party needs to ensure that the Democrats hold enough power that they can present themselves as the only "viable" opposition. If the political center were to shift five points to the right, it would mildly bother the Democrats, but would decimate the RINO party. That's why the RINOs are so willing to let the Democrats steal votes--the better the Democrats do, the more effectively the RINO Party can hold conservatives at bay.
Palin responded immediately WHEN ASKED BY POLITICO... SHE ANSWERED PROPERLY, FORCEFULLY AND CONSTITUTIONALLY. SARAH IS OUR DEFACTO LEADER... EVEN IF SHE NEVER RUNS FOR OFFICE. ONE VOICE... ALONE IN THE WILDERNESS... STOOD UP TO EVIL AND MADE GEORGE WASHINGTON AND THE FOUNDERS SMILE... IT WAS NOT ANY ELECTED REPUBLICAN OR REPUBLICAN CANDIDATE... IT WAS GOVERNOR SARAH PALIN.
