Republicans Struggle To Respond To Obamas Immigration Decision Aaron Blake 06/15/2012
Just hours after word leaked out that the Obama administration would stop deporting young illegal immigrants who were brought to the United States by their parents, the issue is already causing headaches for the Republican Party.
The party, which has previously split over its own presidents efforts on illegal immigration reform, is similarly stuck when it comes to Obamas decision.
And at a time when party unity is paramount, the move is exposing fissures.

The company line from Mitt Romneys presidential campaign and prominent senators like Marco Rubio (R-Fla.) and Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.) Friday was a process argument, in which they decry the decision to make the move without Congresss consent.
I believe the status of young people who come here through no fault of their own is an important matter to be considered and should be solved on a long-term basis so they know what their future would be in this country, Romney said in a statement to reports in Milford, N.H. I think this action that this president took today makes it more difficult to reach that long-term solution, because an executive order is of course just a short-term matter.
A statement from Rubio made a similar argument: Todays announcement will be welcome news for many of these kids desperate for an answer, but it is a short-term answer to a long term problem. And by once again ignoring the Constitution and going around Congress, this short-term policy will make it harder to find a balanced and responsible long-term one.

It does not matter... when it is the right thing to do... and it is... then you do it. obamao could not hold up under the rules of discovery and believe me... there is a lot of evil that would come to light... and the cameras will be there and they will be live.

Don’t hold your breath...
If Romney picks Rubio as VP, Obama will win in a landslide.
This WP article was written from the White House. Journalism is a joke these days.
I strongly disagree. No I don't want Rubio on the ticket. I want him to stay where he is. I live in FL.
I don't think ZERO could win in a landslide if he gave everybody $1M.
It WILL be a landslide however, just like when JIMMAH ran for a second term.
Exactly.
The Immigration issue isn’t the issue here.
The issue is : “ Do we allow this man to take control of the Legislative Branch of Government through his dictates or do we enforce the Constitution of the United States.
Immigration is a minor problem copmpared to the dictatorial takeover of the United States Government.
How about this is totally unacceptable. How about we not only won’t support this but find it antithetical to what we hold dear. How about we intend to fight this with every ounce of our being and this is a direct assault on our nation, sovereignty, heritage and people.
Great, this really gives me confidence in our team. It just shows they agree with Obama and would make what he did permanent

You are almost there in your observation.
He did this cause a crisis. He is trying really hard to instigate a Constitutional crisis and have it pour over into blood in the streets.
Once there...dictatorial takeover is much easier.
Too bad conservatives never learned how to deal with this kind of crisis.
If this were still early in the primary and PERRY had responded that way... Romney would have roasted him alive in the next debate.
California was a solid GOP state until it had that ballot proposition regarding illegal aliens... then it went solid Democratic and never went back.
There’s a reason everything has been backfiring on Obama lately, and it’s because the liberal voting bloc is composed of disparate, juxtaposed groupings, and when one group is pandered to, other constituents perceive harm.
Imagine you’re one of the few legal immigrants who followed proper channels and became a naturalilzed US citizen. You can vote. Your brother crossed the border illegally a few years ago and brought two young children. Your brother’s kids, by virtue of Obama’s executive order, now qualify for the two year pass on being deported. Your brother, their father, can be sent back. The family can be broken up by attempting to take advantage of this new privilege. Yes, some can be “helped”, but others will see potential harm. Like all other liberal attempts at pandering, this particular pander has the dubious quality of being targeted and temporary, so it can become a net negative for Obama.
Then there are the blacks who will see this as a jobs issue that could end up harming them. Likewise the union rank and file.
Then there’s the state’s rights issue, which will begin to become part of the conversation soon, and, of course, that which many on this forum have pointed out as the most salient flaw in this edict-the fact that it is patently illegal and a brazen violation of the separation of powers.
Meanwhile, a pattern is emerging here such that those of us who have no dog in this particular fight could begin to ask the question “so what other laws might he decide to just pass, and will they do harm to me and my family?” It’s probably wishful thinking on my part, but maybe it will dawn on some liberals and independents soon that we’ve all just been disenfranchised.
Give it a little time, it’s all going to blow up in Obama’s face.
BUT it did not happen.
Instead, Mr. RomneyCARE represented again the FINEST DNC points.
TARP, RomneyCARE/ObamaCARE, DeathPanels,
More Illegals, No conservative spine,
Amnesty, Wall Street special deals,
Sharia, Special Deals, Vulture Corporatism.
Mr. RomneyCARE is EXACTLY like Obama.

Obamas Immigration Decision.Another item that will cost him the election, the list grows.
I’m sick to death of the racial politics being CONSTANTLY played by the socialist progressives. The ONLY response to the notion that conservatives are racist is:
The very instant that progressivism is deemed to be a ‘race’, then I will (proudly) be a racist. Until then, stop the politics of victimization. Stop pandering to the Jacksons, Sharptons, Wrights, and all the other race baiting opportunists whose only ticket to enter the public debate is the color of their skin.
The GOP, and MR in particular, should play this as an illegal exercise of power rather than an immigration issue. Make the commies defend it on legal grounds.
