June 17, 2012 Rubio: GOP Has Work To Do To Win Over Hispanics
Marco Rubio says, "I'm not going to be the vice-president."
He can deny it all he wants, but there's no denying that a lot of people think the Senator could be Mitt Romney's running-mate.
When asked by O'Donnell if, at age 41 and in his second year in the Senate, he thinks he is qualified to be a heartbeat away from the presidency, Rubio replied, "Well, look, I have a job now, and I certainly feel like I'm qualified to be in the United States Senate. Like anything you do in life, you learn. So certainly I feel that I'm better prepared to be in the Senate today than I was a year ago."
Maybe he's seen as too young for this election cycle. But in Marco Rubio, many conservatives, not to mention Tea Party supporters, have a new hero - one who is personable, seemingly unflappable, and could wind up helping to broaden the Republican base with Hispanic voters.
"You've been called the Tea Party Senator; first of all, do you like that name?" asked O'Donnell.
"I have no problem being associated with the Tea Party," Rubio said. "But I can only tell you what I stand for. And I think the things that I stand for, and I think the things the Republican Party should and does stand for, are very mainstream positions."
Those positions are strongly conservative, right down the line. Abortion rights? "I'm pro-life," he says. "I believe life begins at conception."
President Obama's Affordable Care Act? "I think it should be repealed and replaced."
Entitlement reform? "I think it's essential. I want to save Medicare. My mom's on Medicare."

I have noticed that recently Marco Rubio has implied that "Hispanics" and "illegal aliens" are synonymous of each other.
I beg to differ.

If we have to treat them special we don’t need them. I would ask Rubio why he became a Republican and why that reason isn’t good enough for other Americans to become Republicans?

However, if "win over Hispanics" means throwing open our borders so that most of South America moves in here, then that is a problem for all Americans including Hispanics.
If they want to work with Hispanics, they should maybe tell Hispanics what conservatism is all about. They can teach the legal immigrants the concepts of limited government, personal responsibility, faith and family, and freedom and liberty. They can share these concepts translated into Spanish if they wish.

The guy has jumped the shark. America was built on equal justice for all — not special privilege for some. If Hispanic-Americans want to be treated differently based on their origin, they should go back to where they were before the hyphen.
Shouldn’t Hispanics be Americans first?
And if they’re Americans what about them should be singled out for special treatment verses other Americans?
And if one honestly answers the questions you have the answers to the larger issues.

Hispanics are just following the highly successful trail to free crap and special status in America blazed by other priveleged “persons of color” groups.

We need to clear him out next election and put a conservative with some reform ideas who understands and is respectful of the constitution. We have enough tribal race baiters in Congress. If the GOP enters into in racist tribal contest to see who can give the racists the most preferences, this country is done. We need someone who can speak about American liberty and wealth. They did not come here to be socialist peasants and serfs.

If you flood the country with illegal immigrants, that would strain our limited economic resources, break down our social benefits programs, cut down employment opportunities - not patriotic, Marco! Who are you really representing?
Screw that. Pandering will only beget more of the same. Let those that want to hold immigration hostage bear the burdens from it, especially employment. Enough is enough. For every one who wants to “teach us a lesson” there will one Anglo would will bolt the Demonrats over this issue.
