RIVERDALE | For village President Deyon Dean, Saturday was a day of conflict.
Dean said he sympathizes with the Revs. Jesse Jackson and Michael Pfleger and their outrage about urban violence and the amount of firearms on the streets of Chicago, but he wishes they had picked a different place to express their anger.
The two outspoken South Side clergymen chose to lead dozens of people in picketing Saturday afternoon outside Chucks Gun Shop, 14310 S. Indiana Ave. The shop, at nearly 50 years, is one of the village's oldest businesses.
They have been a good business for Riverdale. They pay their taxes consistently, Dean said of Chucks, whose staff on Saturday declined to comment.
Dean said the dealer has made repeated financial contributions throughout the years, enabling the village to operate various programs benefiting young people.
I agree that we need to work harder to get all the guns off the streets, but I dont want to come out and say anything that would put all the blame on Chucks, Dean said. They are a part of our business community.

“Dozens” most likely includes the reporters that were there.
Øbamath.
Those two media whores are going to start something they won’t be able to stop when some `activist’ takes it to the next level & invades the premises. This will not end well.
A few years back, the esteemed Fr. Phleger was threatening for a while to have his mob drag some gun-store owner out into the street and beat him to death.
Is this the same place?
Is this actually hurting thier business? I wouldn’t be surprised if the publicity didn’t actually bring in more business.
The rev doesn’t mention that the street thugs don’t get their guns from here. Instead, they break in and steal them from legal gun owners that support their community by shopping and paying taxes locally.
“Supplies guns to streets”? Streets don’t buy guns: people do. And in the relevant area, most of them are probably Holder’s People, buying either for offense or for defense.
Maybe Jackson and Pfleger should address the endemic violence of their people.
Exactly.
How many guns used in killings have been proven to come from Chucks gun store?
Thats where the problem is, they should go after the gangs to get rid of them, he said.
Somebody in Chicago gets it. Jackson and Pfleger protect the gangs instead of working to get rid of them.
Or purchase them from other thugs or steal them from other Chicago residents who purchased them legally years ago when it was possible to purchase guns legally in Chicago. If a Chicago resident has a legally purchased -- but now illegal -- firearm stolen, will he/she tell the police? I doubt it. Many, many firearms must have become illegal in Chicago without the legal owners doing anything at all.
In a nation of 300,000,000 with 300,000,000 guns, a couple of moonbats protesting a gun store is illogical. Other than than that it allows them to continue to claim victimhood by "The Man".
It seems to me that the core problem is Black and Hispanic people shooting other Black and Hispanic people in Chicago. Michael Pfleger makes me feel embarrassed about my own Catholic education.
Note: no statement from any protester.
Probably because there were probably more reporters there than protesters.
Jackson & Pfleger: EPIC FAIL.
Jackson and his thugs didn’t even show up. That was the total number of “protestors” who were there. Two. That’s right, two.
What this presstitute didn’t tell you is that there were 50 counter protestors on site shouting these fools down.
Yes. They flare up at Chuck's every once in a while.
There don’t seem to be any pics of the counter protestors that I can find. Funny that....

In a related story, two liberal clergymen decided to picket grocery stores to stop obesity. One liberal community protester was quoted saying, "If there's no grocery stores, they'd be no fat people". A conservative standing near by mentioned "Over eating might be part of the problem' and that 'honest citizens should be able to buy food in a store'.
The New York Times reporter quickly dubbed the conservative a racist hater... and hinted he might be a 'white hispanic'... or worse. Next morning sun came up in the east.
There were probably 5 protesters, a few customers, the owner, 2 employees, the reporter and a photographer...
The doting court eunuchs of the MSM need to justify covering liberal 'events' that NO ONE IN THE BLACK COMMUNITY supports. This is liberal elites pushing their own agenda - and PRETENDING the little downtrodden people of the black community are with them. They're NOT.
