It wasn't his bedroom, it was the college's, and I doubt most parents would be happy to know their child's roommate was bringing some older, non-student sodomite into their child's room/suite to engage in rather anonymous casual sex.

I cannot believe, but for the homo angle, the college would permit it otherwise.

In the dorms I lived in, non-student visitors had to register upon arriving at the college. I would assume the colleges are MORE restrictive on dorm room activities then they were back in my day, except when it comes to aberrant sex.

I'd feel the same way about a roommate inviting a female hooker back to my room.

I find the idea of "privacy" in a college dorm room to be laughable on its face and believe fully that the deceased enjoyed flaunting his activities. I didn't hear a single shred of evidence that the defendant's actions led to the man's suicide, but that is surely enough the motiviation for the prosecution.

When I wanted "privacy" at college I got an off-campus apartment. I certainly didn't engage in rude behavior that would alienate the one person who could effortlessly abrogate that privacy.
