Too many lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender people face discrimination and bigotry in the healthcare system, Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius said Tuesday. She was speaking at Howard University Hospital in Washington, D.C., at the launch of the Human Rights Campaigns 2012 Healthcare Equality Index (HEI), which evaluates healthcare providers on their services to the LGBT community. For over 32 years the Human Rights Campaign has been an incredibly powerful voice for many who couldnt speak for themselves, Sebelius said.

Can I ask a stupid question, about what healthcare services are being denied to LGBT people? Is the hang-up about treatment for AIDS, or whether sex change operations are covered under health insurance plans?
American and western society have never been more open or accomodating to the homosexual and LGBT peoples than today. Yet, there seems to be more anger than ever, over alleged discrimination, and talking about we are a bigoted homophobic society, in spite of the fact that society has never been more tolerant than it is right now.
It is the old story about the ‘Camel’s Nose’. They want power.
