Sen. Grassley: At hearing last wk, Holder claimed his predecessor Mukasey, had been briefed about gunwalking in Operation Wide Receiver.
Sen. Grassley: Now, the Department is retracting that statement and claiming Holder “inadvertently” made that claim to the Committee.
So they briefed him before they didn’t brief him. . . .
Wow. It appears that these guys will hang on to the party line until the very end.
(Question: When will Americans once again be in charge of the government?)

Scooter Libby made some “inadvertant” statements, too. Look where that got him.
Cite for Contempt.
Indict for same.
Arrest for same.
Incarcerate until he talks.

Holder inadvertently realizing the cover-up is coming uncovered.
Now we’ll see if that bond between Holder and Oblunder is strong, or will Holder implicate Oblunder to save his own neck.

Sheila Jackson-Lee is playing up the, “Bush’s Fault” position for Obozo. She’s claiming that all the Fast&Furious operation lays at the feet of G.W. Bush.

And THAT.. is the biggest fish of all. I strongly suspect you've hit upon exactly the reason Obama won't offload Holder. Holder knows wayyyyyyyyy too much.
And... Holder has probably reminded Obama of that very thing.
Obama should be freaking. Up until this morning, Obama could have thrown Holder under the bus. But by asserting Executive Privilege, Obama has irrevocably tied his fate directly to Holder's. Now these two must hang together, or they'll surely hang separately.
Holder's lie was not over Mukasey briefed or not briefed. His lie was that he claimed that Bush & Mukasey's operation "Wide Receiver" was the same as Obama & Holder "Fast and Furious" which walked guns into Mexico without making any attempt to follow and track them - when "Wide Receiver" did follow and track them.
So, I'm sure Mukasey was briefed about "Wide Receiver" and I'm equally sure Mukasey had no need to cover-up that fact - as does the unconvicted felon Holder concerning "Fast and Furious."

f&f was done in secret, without the mexican governments knowledge...
knowingly arming a rebel force against a standing government is a violation of international treaties and, according to the geneva convention, an act of war...

“This is the second time in nearly seven months that the Department has gotten its facts wrong about gunwalking,” Grassley said. “Attorney General Holder accused Attorney General Mukasey, without producing any evidence, of having been briefed on gunwalking in Wide Receiver. The case Attorney General Mukasey was briefed on, Hernandez, is fundamentally different from both Wide Receiver and Fast and Furious since it involved cooperation with the Mexican government. Attorney General Holder’s retraction should have included an apology to the former Attorney General.”
In his original request for evidence that supported the statements, Grassley said if Holder could not back the claim, he owed Mukasey an apology. Holder did not include an apology in the retraction. It’s unclear if the attorney general will apologize to Mukasey for the now-retracted statement. Holder spokeswoman Tracy Schmaler wouldn’t answer when The Daily Caller asked her.
