Boehner: If Supreme Court strikes down health care law, ‘there will be no spiking of the ball’
Yahoo News ^ | 6-21-12 | Chris Moody

The Supreme Court is expected to rule on the constitutionality of President Barack Obama's health care law within the next week, and House Speaker John Boehner has issued a pre-emptive warning to fellow House Republicans if parts of the law are struck down: Forget about celebrating.

In a memo sent to his entire caucus Friday, Boehner warned members not to gloat over what most Republicans would see as a victory.

"[I]f the Court strikes down all or part of the president's health care law, there will be no spiking of the ball," Boehner wrote in the memo. "Republicans are focused on the economy—and under President Obama's policies, our economy is struggling. We will not celebrate at a time when millions of our fellow Americans remain out of work, the national debt has exceeded the size of our nation's economy, health costs continue to rise, and small businesses are struggling to hire."

Hate to agree with Boener but this is a good move.

People here and throughout the country can and will still celebrate. Just not House Republicans.

There ought to be a huge “before” and “after” poster of Pelosi.

The “before” shows her strutting around with the giant gavel. The “after” shows her trying to walk with it shoved in her backside.

Ding, ding, ding!

We have a winnnah'!

Post of the day, or week; maybe even the year.

Glad I didn't have a mouthful of beverage.

ROFLMAO!

What, would have So difficult about just keeping his mouth shut till after SCOTUS opened theirs?

Then if the Supremes got it right and the Dems went into meltdown just softly smiling back at them with one slightly raised eyebrow, and wagging a finger in their direction to tell them,

“Well, there you go again.”

It’s not as though we don’t already have a playbook of what we know works with hysterical Dems.

There’s a huge difference between gloating and celebrating.

Boehner acts like they’re the same thing.

Yep I concur....

Boehner is keeping the team focused on the ball, which is the 2012 election cycle and the removal of Obama and the Democrats from the halls of power. That is the whole objective and we best NOT forget it.

Down the Donks 2012!

Save the cheerleading high 5’s for Friday night football. We’ve got a nation to retrieve and revive......

My question is...why? Democrats spiked the ball in our face on national TV when they violated the Constitution, our individual liberties, by simply passing socialized health care. Pelosi even promised, months before it became law, that liberals would pass it all costs, regardless of the so-called infringement to our rights. Sorry, but if this leviathan is struck down, I will spike the ball for America & for the Bill of Rights our forefathers conceived for watershed moments just like this: to protect us against narcissistic dictators like Barack Hussein Obama. Long live the Republic!

“Speak for yourself, you aisle-crossing, pussy crybaby.”

If I remember Boehner held the final House vote on Obamacare
to a 100% Republican NO vote. (Only one house member voted it out of committee, and he has since lost his seat.) Calling Boehner an “...aisle crossing, pussy crybaby.” flies in the face of the truth that he fought Obamacare tooth and nail.....and got Democraty crossover votes to join his Republicans.

Your venom does not paint a very pretty picture of youself. (or other similiar posters.) Get a grip on it. We have a country to retrieve, revice, and restore. Shooting our allies in the back doesn’t seem a plan for sucess.

(PS Yes I too hope for “stronger leadership in tomorrow’s next Congress. I just not willing to be two faced about our current leadership when they’ve come through when it counted.)

Better to go on the offense and work on actual reform. And to be prepared for Obama’s blatant disregard for the other two branches of our government.

Those two statements are in direct conflict with one another. You chastise for attacking a milquetoast, appeasement-minded politican, and then go right ahead and launch your own personal attack on fellow conservatives.

They don’t “paint a very pretty picture” of your conservative committment, or political acumen.

Defeat of Obamacare would be a huge strike back against the ongoing Communist agenda to deconstruct the core concepts of America. Hiding such a projected victory under a bushel basket in the name of “class” or decorum, or whatever professional politican safety first terminology is being deployed, would be a gross public relations tactical error.

The victory should be celebrated, publicly, the reasons for the jubilance and entusiasm elucidated, and the momentum thus gained, further channelled to augment future conservative initiatives.

How and what in the world got to do with msm propaganda?

Your reaction.

Boehner's caution is totally appropriate. It is the sanme caution that would be issued by a head football coach.

The players (us) are free to celebrate, but restraint is totally appropriate on the part of the coaching staff.

The sooner the Estemed Sobber-of-the-House Boehner is voted out of his Sobbership the better.

Boehner is totally unaware of the death knell threat of Obama”care” to America.

Damn right we will do all the things that Boehner says we shouldn’t do!
