Welcome to the Mainstream, Mr. Furious

Bob Owens

The Obama administration gun-running plot known as Operation Fast and Furious exploded into the mainstream this week with a dramatic series of motions that caught many Americans (those not familiar with the scandal) by surprise.

The president asserted executive privilege over tens of thousands of Department of Justice documents related to the plot just hours before a House Oversight and Government Reform Committee hearing on whether to hold Attorney General Eric Holder in contempt for obstructing their investigation.

After a highly partisan and charged debate split down party lines, the committee then voted along party lines to hold the attorney general in contempt, which sets the stage for a contempt motion to be voted upon by the entire Republican-led House of Representatives. This could trigger a cascade of actions that could potentially culminate in prison for Holder:

A House panel voted Wednesday in favor of holding Attorney General Eric Holder in contempt of Congress, a move that inflamed partisan rancor on Capitol Hill and sets up the possibility of legal action against the attorney general himself.

Holder has not yet been formally held in contempt of Congress. The full House would still need to approve the resolution in order for that to happen — and Rep. Darrell Issa, R-Calif., afterward told Fox News that such a floor vote can still be avoided.

But the 23-17 party-line vote on the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee marked a significant turn in lawmakers’ 16-month investigation into the botched anti-gunrunning operation Fast and Furious. With the vote, Republicans on the committee signaled they had exhausted all other means to extract sought-after documents from the Justice Department — though Democrats had insisted there was still an opportunity to sort out the mess without a contempt vote.

The movement may seem stunning to the American people if they have not followed the scandal closely, as the mainstream media has continued to refer to Operation Fast and Furious as a “botched law enforcement operation” for 18 months. Evidence suggests, however, that the gun-running plot worked precisely as designed. Fast and Furious sent more than 2,000 firearms to the Sinaloa drug cartel, all apparently semi-automatic (one shot per trigger pull) firearms that would have been subject to regulation under the attorney general’s stated February 2009 goal of reinstating the so-called “assault weapon ban” of the Clinton-era.

Weapons sold to cartel straw purchasers by Arizona gun dealers were logged by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF). The ATF worked with the FBI, DEA, Homeland Security, and IRS CID in a strike force that was well aware of how the cartel’s gunmen used their weapons. After committing a violent crime, Sinaloa gunmen dumped their weapons at the scene to avoid capture with murder weapons. The guns collected at the scene had their serial numbers recorded by Mexican law enforcement officials, who sent those recorded to the ATF for tracing. Each weapon recovered was “proof” that the Obama administration used to support the infamous “90-percent lie” they spread in hopes of building up public support for gun control.

Speaker of the House John Boehner and Majority Leader Eric Cantor announced in a joint statement that a full House vote on the contempt charge will be scheduled for next week.

The developments must have shocked NBC News viewers, who would have had to find out about the story on another network. NBC finally mentioned Fast and Furious for the first time in passing last week, and refused to mention it yesterday despite it being the most newsworthy political story of the day.

MSNBC, the New York Times, the Washington Post and other left-leaning news organizations have tried to minimize the scandal as much as possible, claiming it was “botched” instead of an operation designed to require Mexican fatalities. These and similar news media sought to provide Holder with political cover by noting how many times he’s appeared before the Oversight committee, while avoiding mentioning that he never provided the documentation Congress requested. Also neglected: the fact that Holder refused to fire a single soul involved.

Fast and Furious is the most deadly scandal in U.S. presidential history, a plot and on-going coverup that dwarfs Watergate in both scope and depth of criminality.

Fast and Furious is also the most damning media scandal in American history, with the overwhelming majority of research and investigation into the plot coming not from Pulitzer-equipped investigative reporters backed by powerful media stalwarts, but from bloggers like Mike Vanderboegh and David Codrea, and new media reporters like Mary Chastain, Katie Pavlich, and Matthew Boyle, the latter group representing companies that just erupted into existence.

It’s a brave new world where powerful political and media interests face a siege from what one well-known online pundit had the foresight to call “an Army of Davids” set out to slay the mainstream media/Democratic Party Goliath.

Fast and Furious has gone mainstream in a big way despite the best efforts of the gatekeepers to protect the attorney general and president, the two individuals many believe to be at the core of both the plot and the coverup.

Game on.

I sincerely hope the MSM has a hard time explaining why they sat on this story for years. I don’t think their “racism” excuse will wash with anybody except the paid hacks at CNN and MSNBC.

I don’t believe the MSM is capable of being honest about the American Left, it’s actions or ideology. After all, they’re part of it.

Bernard Goldberg said it best, IMO. It’s a “slobbering love affair”.

The MSM Pimps and Prostitutes can’t back down and tell the truth ... they’ve invested their EGO and will go to the ends of the earth to spin a different reality rather than tell the truth. They’ve been bought and paid for at the basest level...the loss of their souls.

Not once, have I heard any explanation on how they would track the weapons. If there is no plan to track the weapons the logic is very simple. They had absolutely no desire to track the weapons.

This begs the explanation of why this was done? If no effort was made to track the weapons the only logical explanation is they wanted to track and expose what happened with the weapons.

What happened was weapons that the ATF and Justice Department allowed to “Go South” were used to kill hundreds of Mexican Nationals and one Border Patrol agent and one ATF agent.

Unfortunately Mr. Holder did not consider American Citizens being killed. They were killed. It happened and the blood is on the hands of Mr. Holder and his boss Barrack Obma.

The whole damn thing was an attack on the 2nd amendment and the right to bear arms. It is no more and no less.

Our present executive branch is a criminal operation. It is no more and no less.

The MSM cannot tell the truth. Their ideology is based on a lie and they believe if they control the information they will control the people.

We are watching the information arm of the Communist party at work. There is a way to beat them. We have to out Alinsky Alinsky..

The doting court eunuchs of the MSM covered for Clinton when the Flower's tapes came out... covered for Teddy Kennedy when he killed a young woman... tried to cover for the creep John Edwards... and now they're covering-up for Holder...

In spite of MSM lies and cover-ups for 'friends' the press still wonders why people trust Used Car salesmen more...

I got a flash for you boys...

“This begs the explanation of why this was done?”

To create a false narrative that would allow them to reinstate the Clinton era so-called “assault weapons” ban, for starters.

Good article at this link:

Excellent point. We need to forget the MSM and get the word out ourselves. On another thread i appealed to the 5,000 employees of the ATF to step up and divulge their emails, paper trail etc. to get to the truth. IMHO the most effective thing we should ALL be doing RIGHT NOW is educating our circle of contacts who are not as attentive to politics as we are. In other words, spend more time spreading the word and less on a freeper pity party about how the msm covers up for O blah-blah. F’ em. Now git bizzy!

Once Lenin achieved total power his order of executions were as follows:

Political rivals

Military Patriots

The few in the media that did not follow his diction.

Um.. Huh?

Since when do drug cartels abandon their weapons at the scene? I mean, I don’t know, but this doesn’t sound quite right. Somewhere else down the road; in a river or lake, or pawn them off to someone else, sure. But abandon them at the scene of the crime so they can be collected by LEO’s and traced?

That don’t smell right to me.

Could Obama and the WithHolder have colluded with that cartel. Are they guilty of actually setting this up with drug dealers and murderers?

I wouldn’t put it past them.

Correct. Obama let the "guns walk" to Mexico.

This begs the explanation of why this was done? If no effort was made to track the weapons the only logical explanation is they wanted to track and expose what happened with the weapons.

To create mayhem and death for political purposes.

The whole damn thing was an attack on the 2nd amendment and the right to bear arms. It is no more and no less.

No doubt whatsoever.

Oh yes. Any which way they can subvert the country, and they feel they can get away with it, they will do it to advance their Totalitarian agenda.

1) Play up the question of who actually authorized this, not the part about it being an attack on the second amendment (too 'conspiratorial' for most Americans, and would let the anti-gun nuts play the conspiracy angle).

2) Clearly explain the differences between Operation Wide Receiver, Gunrunner, and Fast and Furious. Do this early and often, and point out that the plan under Bush was not implemented while F&F was expanded and put into play by the Obama admin.

Get people in front of as many "news" media cameras as possible on a daily basis and repeat the above while stating that no one is 'after the President' but someone authorized this and someone died, we need to know what went wrong. Then ask the (usually) liberal show host if they would not want to find out who was in charge if one of their family members had been killed.

It's all about presentation, folks. Appear calm, rational, even forgiving and, even though the "news" media will still try to destroy you, enough of this, done the right way, will convince Mr. and Mrs. Average American to keep this investigation going and that those responsible will pay.

>>>>The MSM cannot tell the truth.<<<<

A Harley Biker is riding by the zoo in Washington, DC when he sees a little girl leaning into the lion’s cage.

Suddenly, the lion grabs her by the collar of her jacket and tries to pull her inside to slaughter her, under the eyes of her screaming parents. The biker jumps off his Harley, runs to the cage and hits the lion square on the nose with a powerful punch.

Whimpering from the pain, the lion jumps back, letting go of the girl, and the biker brings her to her terrified parents, who thank him endlessly. A reporter has watched the whole event.

The reporter, addressing the Harley rider, says, ‘Sir, this was the most gallant and brave thing I’ve seen a man do in my whole life.’

The Harley rider replies, ‘Why, it was nothing, really, the lion was behind bars. I just saw this little kid in danger and acted as I felt right.’

The reporter says, ‘Well, I’ll make sure this won’t go unnoticed. I’m a journalist, you know, and tomorrow’s paper will have this story on the front page… So, what do you do for a living and what political affiliation do you have?’

The biker replies, “ I’m a U.S. Marine and a Republican .”

The following morning the biker buys the paper to see if it indeed brings news of his actions, and reads, on the front page:

“U.S. MARINE ASSAULTS AFRICAN IMMIGRANT AND STEALS HIS LUNCH”

… and THAT pretty much sums up the media’s approach to the news

This begs the explanation of why this was done?>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

I believe the reason was more insidious than just creating reasons for gun control.

Obama and his movement are fascists. Few understand what this means. The purpose of Fast and Furious was to provide arms to Reconquistas who were willing to fight for racial/ethnic principles, to bring about “hope and change.” for their people.Obama considers this “revolution” and so does Holder.Note also that the focus of such violence would have beeen and may well still be the red states of fly over country, the conservative bastions of America. It is why Obama and Holder are desperate not to reveal their documents to America.

Obama and Holder have a lot to answer for; they are criminals IMHO, who had begun the preliminary work to arm a 5th column guerrilla force of fighters who would work out of sequestered federal lands in Arizona, Texas and New Mexico. This is the kind of things fascists do to destroy their conservative enemies and their associated culture.

Obama and Holder perpetrated an act of war on Mexico, and on the People of the United States. They both should hang for it, as the dirty little fascists they are.

That’s good.

I always liked the one where a couple of journolists were having lunch by the Potomac and they see George Bush passing by in a boat. They wave to him and Bush, being the friendly President that he is, get’s out of the boat and walks 200 feet on top of the water to the shoreline where he greets the reporters.

Next days headline, “President Bush Can’t Swim.”
