So, retirees on "fixed incomes" can also enjoy the benefits (Whole Foods, gourmet foods, etc.) of food stamps...compliments of you and I. Give. me. a. break.
I say put the stigma back in welfare....it motivates you to not take hand outs as a career.

Most single seniors qualify for $10-30 in food stamps, not worth going for...Commodity line has tripled in the small town I came from, and mostly very old people, very few young. They get a few tins of veggies and fruit and maybe a jar of off brand peanut butter.
Illegal INVADERS is where the big FDA food stamp money is going now.
