90 B61 nuclear bombs at Incirlik Air Base in Turkey (2009)
Bulletin of the Atomic Scientists ^ | 23 NOVEMBER 2009 | ALEXANDRA BELL AND BENJAMIN LOEHRKE

Posted on 06/23/2012 5:20:03 AM PDT by moonshot925

Today, Turkey hosts an estimated 90 B61 gravity bombs at Incirlik Air Base. Fifty of these bombs are reportedly assigned for delivery by U.S. pilots, and forty are assigned for delivery by the Turkish Air Force. However, no permanent nuclear-capable U.S. fighter wing is based at Incirlik, and the Turkish Air Force is reportedly not certified for NATO nuclear missions, meaning nuclear-capable F-16s from other U.S. bases would need to be brought in if Turkey's bombs were ever needed.

Nope, never got back to Turkey or Spain where I was PCS. After all those flying hours in a KC-97 from Spain to Turkey (8-10 hours each way) and back I'm afraid my desire for flight wained a long time ago LOL.

The Turkish AF can only deliver per our instructions. We have total control. They aren’t their weapons to use at their own discretion.

There are codes the pilot needs to successfully deploy the weapon and several other "preset" conditions must be met. Don't know how much is declassified now so that's as far as I will go.

Bible Interpretation fella's Bible Interpretation fella's

Isaiah 17 in a nut shell = In the evening there is trouble, by the dawn Damacus ceases to be a city and man will never live there again...

90% of Syria lives in Damascus, it is a bowl shaped city with over 4 million occupants. One can speculate that the lack of humans living there indicate a ground burst. Only thing is that the USA is the only country that has a nuclear bunker buster. So its kinda interesting.

I’m aware of conditions. I had a TS/SCI in the USAF.

Enter the wrong code, and the weapon locks down. Permanently.

I think it takes a trip to Panex for disassembly and rebuild to revitalize it.

Oh, and God help anyone who doesn't disassemble it in precisely the way Panex does.

Yes. But to whom is the question...

It’s open source information. Type US nukes in Turkey into Google, and you’ll get plenty of hits. It is no secret.

These antinuclear activists love barry, he is their long awaited chance for uniltateral disarmament

articles such as this are not published to inform, but to leak, inflame and alarm

but thanks from ploughshares (and whoever funds this “public” group) for playing along

The current ruling house in Syria are the Alawites. They are so far removed from Sunni and Shia Islam that they've adopted both Christian and Jewish customs and beliefs. Most Moslems do not consider the Alawites to be Moslem. Some do. You'll get different sources who say different things. Currently the Alawites view the Sunni as enemies.

The Sunni have been infiltrating Syria for many years and now are involved in an armed uprising ~ against the only group that views Christians in a positive light.

Russia has said they are involved in this to the extent needed to protect Syria's Christian minority.

China with upwards of (39, to 80 to 120 to 140, maybe even as much as 300 million) Christians, is also siding with the Alawi.

So, where is Obama? And now do you understand how it came to pass that Ali McCain threw the election.

Is it true the Republicans are not running a trinitarian Christian for the Presidency this year?

I know all the prophecy experts have tended to lump the US into the category of "the good guys" but maybe this year we're not. Recast the prophecies in that light. Find out why John of Revelation didn't mention either Islam or the United States.

And then there’s money ~ I’m sure the Turks know what to do to acquire and make use of the nukes.

I can never understand why Eisenhower/Kennedy decided to deploy 45 Jupiter MRBMs to Italy and Turkey in 1961.

By March 1961 we had 5 George Washington class SSBNs in commission and another 5 Ethan Allen class SSBNs were on the way.

Each of these boats carried 16 Polaris SLBMs armed with a 600 kiloton W47 warhead. 40 times more powerful than Little Boy dropped on Hiroshima !!!

The USSR had folks working on every which way but Monday to figure out how to bypass American security systems.

Those guys are probably retired, or unemployed, or enjoying the beach front on the Mediterranean in Syria.

The security systems serve primarily to keep our own folks, who have physical possession of the weapons, from misusing the weapons.
