As I have stated, I don’t approve of these kinds of things. And certainly the minors in these situations can be psychologically/mentally harmed. But I’d say a lot of the male students involved don’t regret anything. I’m saying that as a male who knows what goes on inside the minds of a lot of other males. Young women are more likely to be psychologically hurt. I doubt it’s the same for young males. When most males reach the age of sixteen, females really start looking good. Including good-looking female teachers. Enough said.
But...I don't think we should minimize the harm done to the male student. Any woman who would do this to a boy is likely cut from the same bolt of cloth as Mrs. Robinson in the movie the “Graduate”. Highly manipulative.
It isn't just about a boy responding to a “hottie”.
It’s a tough call, driftless. From the point of view of a former teenage boy (not recently), I have to agree with you. A 16 year old boy is not going to be harmed, and in fact be greatly excited, by an encounter with a good-looking female teacher. I lusted after at least one when I was a teenager, a lust that went unfulfilled and was in my own mind only.
From the point of view of a father of a son who is not yet a teenager, my gut instinct is to say to all female teachers everywhere, back off, b*tches, I don’t want your filthy hands on my boy.
I recognize the hypocrisy in my own thinking, but there it is.
I suspect that the truth lies closer to the parental instincts. Although a teenage boy might THINK he loves (or would love) a close encounter with a female teacher, that doesn’t mean he’s not psychologically harmed by it.
