Green ‘drivel’ exposed. The godfather of global warming lowers the boom on climate change hysteria
Toronto Sun ^ | 6/23/2012 | Lorrie Goldstein

Two months ago, James Lovelock, the godfather of global warming, gave a startling interview to msnbc.com in which he acknowledged he had been unduly “alarmist” about climate change.

The implications were extraordinary.

Lovelock is a world-renowned scientist and environmentalist whose Gaia theory — that the Earth operates as a single, living organism — has had a profound impact on the development of global warming theory.

There is a lot of money in the Global Warming business and powerful political interests supporting the theory. The man is taking a courageous stand going against that.

This IDIOT doesn’t understand thermodynamics, nor the ebb & flow of solar cycles, and the ebb and flow of all the other cycles. The Earth cannot maintain its energy level on this planet without the warm nurishment from the Sun to keep us warm.

God has decided that our planet is worthy of cycles that keep us safe and warm, so that we can grow our own food, enjoy fresh water, and breathe the air that is washed by rain.

The man decries environmentalism as a religion, but doesn’t realize that he carved its idol.

Gaia theory — that the Earth operates as a single, living organism

If so, then humanity is part of that organism and anything we do is, by definition, "natural."

It drives me crazy that deep enviros claim that man is on the one hand just another animal, of no greater value than any other; and on the other an alien and evil presence on the planet, the enemy of the ecosystem and all other living things. The beliefs are not compatible, though of course this does not stop them from holding both at the same time.

I wish somebody would explain to me exactly why a beaver dam is "natural" and Hoover Dam is not.

Two books of”fiction’ that answer this perfectly are State of Fear by Michael Chrichton and Rainbow 6 by Tom Clancy.

Both were based on the core philosiphies of Deep Ecology and have proven to be pretty accurate (so far) as the greens grow more desperate.

The Matrix, with humanity as a disease. According to Agent Smith, anyway.

For those who think this way, how should they deal with a disease?

“They” are environmentally correct wise and knowing. “We” are “A cancer on the face of the earth”.

I have had greens tell me to my face that ‘we’ should just die and then ‘they’ would be able to fix the earth and live in harmony with it.

The growth of state bureaucracy, unelected regional councils and choking regulation is the result of adhering to a global agenda “implemented locally.” The expense of all this is astounding in a time of budget austerity. Further, it restricts commerce and destroys property rights which affects tax revenue. In turn, the state looks increasingly to the victimized business or property owner to pay for the increased costs of beauraucracy - driving small businesses to the ground.

Key quote from article:
... He responds to attacks on his revised views by noting that, unlike many climate scientists who fear a loss of government funding if they admit error, as a freelance scientist, he’s never been afraid to revise his theories in the face of new evidence. Indeed, that’s how science advances. ...

Global Warming has gone beyond the interest of profit into the realm of religion, or at least a substitute for religion in the minds of the secular, and some professed religious as well. In God’s eyes, morality and repentance of the commandments as given in the Bible is more important, especially when human civilization as a whole could only end with his permission and will behind it.

Lovelock was hammerlock pressured into towing the IPCC line. Believe it. At the time I wrote, the IPCC contradicted Lovelock's life work, for how can it be that gaia (lower-case g) suddenly (post-Industrial Age) can't take care of 'herself'? Millions of years gaia worked it out, and now she can't handle +2F (at most)?

So glad he's recanted. The dude has some interesting ideas.

I wish somebody would explain to me exactly why a beaver dam is "natural" and Hoover Dam is not.

Because they hate humans. Actually, they hate themselves and project that hate onto all humans.

What is important here is to note that he admits that published scientist in the Climate Change field cannot now admit they were wrong, since they could lose government funding. So basically, government funding has turned science into a religion. The only true science now is self funded.

This IDIOT doesn’t understand thermodynamics, nor the ebb & flow of solar cycles,

Why do you resort to name-calling? This guy understands those principles perfectly well. But for you to apparently deny that carbon dioxide molecules trap heat is really anti-scientific.

The argument boils down to how much effect increased CO2 will have. I happen to think (hope?) that it won't have much because of natural stabilizing influences (clouds, oceans, etc..) I agree with you, too, that the Sun has a huge effect that many dismiss.

I wouldn't call him an idiot, though. He clearly is not. We need many more sane voices like him.
