'THE family of a cancer-stricken schoolgirl are trying to raise £140,000 so she can be brought home to die.
Olivia Downie took a turn for the worse after flying to Mexico for treatment.
Doctors now say she is too ill to fly home without medical support.
And that means her desperate parents face a massive bill to get her back to Scotland.'

Oh, man, such a heart-wrenching read, the poor angel girl. Her parents obviously exhausted their options for her, and I’ll be doing my part to get her home. I wasn’t moved to send the berated school monitor money, I just didn’t get it. This child and her family deserve a generous, compassionate gesture. Thanks for posting.
Sad story.
Story said they had tickets for July 2. Apparently the airline wouldn’t make an adjustment but nothing was said about that in the story.
Oh Duh! sorry for my other post. The money was for medical assistance. Shame on me.
Why would they go to Mexico for treatment?
They were most likely denied treatment in the UK.
Happens all the time in socialist type medicine. Its called cost over need. If the cost is to much, then the need is not met.
BTW..since they most likely denied her treatment, they will not include her in the
death rate.
Nothing to with the NHS and refused treatment.
Mexico (and I was equally shocked to learn this) is actually one of the best countries in specialising in treatment for this condition.

I cannot thank you enough.
Olivia Downie flies home to die
‘DYING schoolgirl Olivia Downie finally began her gruelling journey back to Scotland last night.
The seven-year-old is expected to touch down today with parents Lauren and Steven after a desperate battle to bring her home.
Doctors at Tijuanas Hospital Angeles began preparing the youngster for the long trip yesterday morning and the family were due to board a medical plane for the flight to the UK.
Olivia will be taken by Lear jet to Atlanta, Georgia, and Newfoundland in Canada for fuel stops.
She is then expected to finally arrive home in Fraserburgh, Aberdeenshire, with Lauren, 27, and Steven, 34, at around 1.30pm today.’

Very somber news. This puts lesser troubles—which comprises pretty much all else— in perspective, doesn’t it? I remain impressed with the monumental effort to save her by her family; as well as the outpouring of sympathy by her country, being upright and admirable, and further believe it’s meaningful that she did at last make it home to Scotland. And I appreciate you letting me know.
I'm not sure how the money was raised, but wouldn't it have been better used to help fight cancer?
RIP Olivia
