Personally, I’d just like a job interview in my field.
I don’t hate by job per se, but because of hiring freezes, etc. there has been no cross-training or other measures to ensure a minimally disruptive succession. Lower level employee positions that create the promotion pool have shrunk. Valued employees in critical spots are getting salary matches when they get offers and sometime just interviews because they really aren’t short-term replaceable.
There haven’t been any raise pools in a few years, and this is the only monetary way to test your merit.
I retired early, also. But being a patriot and taking my oath to protect and defend the Constitution against all enemies foreign and domestic, I chose not to run and hide. When the SHTF the local Thai thugs will come for you. It won’t be pretty.
I am debt free and intend to get her out of debt quickly. Once we’re debt free together, living on one income should be a cinch.
Maybe.
But the simple fact is if you are responsible, you won’t revolt.
Companies know this.
When they send a mob for you will it be any prettier? Or a drone?
I used to think like you, but I am starting to realize that it won’t be any safer here, and maybe more dangerous than overseas.
The mobs will still attack outside the tribe. If you are in an area where that means you, it doesn’t matter which country.
Yes many businesses now know they got employees over a barrell and they are giving it to them hard and deep.
