If that’s Hunter’s worst offense, then it works for this taxpayer.

I don't think they get any housing allowance at all.

Here is an article about dozens of legislators staying in their offices.

http://www.cbsnews.com/8301-503544_162-20027746-503544.html

Also I remember a story on the TV about Chuck Schumer and his three off four fellow Senates splitting a house to defray the costs of living in DC since they do not get an allowance. I know for a fact their isn't one benefit Schumer would ever turn down, so I think that there isn't an allowance for that.

I believe the Kennedys spent most of their time in the pubs. Hawk & Dove is a good one.

There isn't. But it's an honest mistake to believe there is. http://voices.washingtonpost.com/ombudsman-blog/2009/06/how_seeds_of_truth_can_sometim.html

Sorry RM. You are the ignorant one.

I think the pitifully ignorant assertion you made in post #13 about Hunter getting a "monthly housing allowance of around 4000 dollars a month" which was factually refuted in posts #15 and #22 shows who the "ignorant one" really is!

You think that you can live where you work? Are you on drugs? Seriously try saying to your boss in any work environment that you want to move in (or sleep on the couch 5 days out of 7) and he will reject the idea completely.

Reject it all you want, but until someone backs up the foolish statement in post #2 that "almost anywhere else in the country this would be a crime", your rejection means nothing.

I know most folks cannot use their place of work as their living area. I don’t know if you didn’t understand Drill Thrawl or what, but you are 100 percent incorrect!!!!!

Your spouting off about what you know means nothing on an anonymous internet forum. The burden of proof is on the original assertion. Back it up or shut it up.

Sigh, Another Freeper resorts to personal attacks for what he does not understand. In a previous life, I worked for a civil engineering firm.

Your alleged work experience means nothing on an anonymous internet forum. I challenged the foolish statement you made in your post #2 that "almost anywhere else in the country this would be a crime." You have yet to back it up.

One of my duties while I was there was to ressearch zoning codes to see what was legal or illegal for a given property be it residential, commericial or industrial. In everytown and city I reseached it was illegal for a person to habitate in a commericial (read office or small business) or industrial zone building.

You may have been some kind of lackey in a civil engineering firm, but you clearly aren't an attorney. In what "towns and cities" were first time zoning use violations considered crimes? Can you even name one? I doubt your whole story.

Millions of people may do it and get away with it but it is generally illegal.

This gets back to your original statement. The burden of proof is on the person who made the assertion. Many posters on this thread have challenged you. You allege that a sitting U.S. congressman is engaging in what would normally be criminal behavior. Prove your assertion or retract it. Otherwise your are just another foolish internet blowhard spouting off and doubling down on libelous drivel.

Reread my post. I meant it’s a good place for a Kennedy to dwell.

Almost anywhere else in the country this would be a crime. But our betters don’t need to follow the rules do they?

I think you win the prize for FR's most unintelligible comment of the day. Or did you paste something from another thread inadvertently? Doesn't matter -- you still win.

I think I did by stating that it is against the law to "live" in your office just about everywhere except DC.

Oh! So that's your point. Is it really? Wouldn't it be up to the employer? And he really hasn't set up house there -- he just sleeps there after work some nights. Never in my life have I heard of a law against sleeping in your office.
