I can't help but worry, what will be the repercussions of this horrid decision?

Will we have to pay the same terrible price as last time Slavery was abolished in this country?

“But is anyone giving any thought to what he actually SAID? He’s rejected the idea of the Mandate, and has deemed it a TAX.”

So what? The Congress doesn’t have the authority to level a direct tax except for income taxes. Therefore, Roberts converted an unconstitutional mandate into an unconstitutional tax. Besides which, it’s not his job to try to rewrite a law to make it constitutional, it’s his job to say yay or nay.

He’s shown himself to be just another statist bastard who cares nothing for the constitution. I hope they kick him out of the Federalist Society toot suite.

Elections matter less than you think.

Even with Supreme Court appointments.

So many here want to support Romney because of the appointments Obama would make. But the real lesson is the history of the court, where most of the decisions which enhanced the power of the government and reduced the freedom of the people and the authority of the States were authored by Republican appointees.

Sorry, but Roberts exposed himself as a major fraud. He lies about taxes and mandates.

The purpose of a tax is to raise revenue.

The goal of the Obamacare mandate is not to raise revenue, but to require an individual to do something.

Roberts knows the difference, he is just a fraud.

Of course he is, my point is he’s not alone in failing to support our Constitution.

Another figure from that era whom John Roberts could be compared to is Daniel Webster. After he supported the Compromise of 1850, which included the Fugitive Slave Law, a lot of his former admirers turned on him with a vengeance.

They are all done politically.

Not quite....but they WILL have to win on the political field now as Roberts took away their sanctuary of hiding behind the courts skirts.

To all that are arguing"...but he gave them unlimited tax power...". They have always had that. Remember 90% income tax levels under Eisenhower?

Obamacare can now simply be voted out. (and you know how)

I'm with you Eddie boy. Everything happens with the possibility for greater good, if you can recognize it.

I believe you see what I see. We just have to FOLLOW THROUGH.

“Let’s be fair here...”

Was Roberts epilepsy and his epilepsy mind altering drugs known at the time of his ‘inquisition’ and confirmation? Did Bush know this when he nominated Roberts?

Inquiring minds want to know...

I think he said it's OUR job to determine whether or not this law is acceptable. We never got the chance to truly vote on it the first time, because of Democrat machinations. He handed us a great election issue, it's up to US to replace Obama, and repeal Obamacare.

We don’t ever vote on laws, our representatives do. It’s his job, along with the other justices to determine wheter a law is Constitutional. Have you read your Constitution lately? It doesn’t sound like you have.

Yes, I'm familiar with the Constitution, dear. My comment referred to the fact that we didn't have the chance to let our representatives know our opinions on specifics of the bill, because we hadn't seen it. Even THEY hadn't seen it!

So even though many of us contacted our Representatives and Senators, our protests were in the general sense. Now that we KNOW what's in the bill, we can quote chapter and verse in our opposition to it. And it is OUR responsibility to work to correct Congress when they've done something with which we disagree, if we can convince enough of our fellow citizens to do so.
