Romney won election today (Vanity)
T4B | 06/28/2012 | T4B

If it was about anything else before, it is about Obamacare now. We have seen what happens in an election centered around Obamacare. It is not pretty for Dems. If SCOTUS had struck it down today, it would have defanged this issue, and de-energized some of the GOP and Independents who united against this in 2009-2010. Some Independents who have been uncomfortable with being associated with GOP candidates are re-energized and re-united over this issue. What will be fascinating is seeing his whole party run away from him on this issue. We may pick up another 30 seats in the House and 8 Senate seats.

“And we can counter that SCOTUS has declared Obama a liar. He said it is not a tax, SCOTUS says it is a tax - thus Obama is a liar.”

Right: beating people up is illegal
Obama: not going to throw a punch
Court: government can kick people
Left: see, beating people up is legal, even the USSC said so
Your counter: but, Obama is a liar... USSC only said the government can kick people, not beat them up

See how silly it sounds. Everybody is playing with words (kick/punch/beat or tax/mandate), while socialism is implemented and approved as constitutional.

He would do much better with simply “Repeal”. That’s what we want. No replace.

Romney’s VP choice will be telling.

And if he picks another RINO, I will be staying home.
And let the RINO’s carry him over the finish line.

Pittsburgh and Philadelphia will vote socialist for a long time.

I can't speak for Philly, but here in Pittsburgh I don't hear my yellow-dog straight-party union newletter voting Democrat neighbors having anything good to say about Obama. And these are people who would normally vote for a groundhog if the Democrat Party endorsed it. Barry seems to frighten and disgust them at a core level. Something way, way bigger than we can even imagine is afoot, I feel.

I won’t be voting for him. Screw him. Another big government lackey.

Plus Obama is going to win. I’d be shocked if he didn’t. You GREATLY overestimate the American public. The days of individual responsibility are dead.

You’re in the minority now if that’s what you want and believe. I firmly believe the majority want a nanny state.

One off the few encouraging things I have encountered recently is a bomper stcker on a Saturn Vue in a VERY blue collar area that reads...”stop the spending!”

But when it comes to Grant St in Pgh...it will be business as usual...sigh.

Not that one person’s observations mean much but at least two of my very union relatives who have been out of work for at least two years, took advantage of federal retraining, and are still out of work plan on voting union/socialist/Obama and don’t want to hear anything from me.

Yeah, who would have predicted that the opinion pages in the NY Times and Vanity Fair and being invited to the right cocktail parties would turn Roberts into a Liberal? I wonder how Heller would be decided today instead of in 2010.

The focus should be on defeating democrats.

Speaking ill of republicans should be done after the rats are removed.

If it was about anything else before, it is about Obamacare now. We have seen what happens in an election centered around Obamacare. It is not pretty for Dems.

I'm not so sure. You have a lot of people out of work that used to have health care and now don't. There are a lot of people that are wondering if they will have a job tomorrow and lose their health insurance. How will those people vote?

As bad a solution as is Obamacare, when you are faced with losing something you need and someone offer it to you as a guarantee, the nuances get lost.

Romney taking a stand that "he will eliminate Obamacare on day one" does not work in the context of people without or worried they will lose healthcare. The Supreme Court handling this one was an easy fix for Romney. Now it is not as easy.

The Supreme Court decision makes the issue more difficult for Romney on two fronts. First, he is locked in to opposing Obamacare but he has not said how or if he will replace it. He will need to articulate that. That is the second problem for Romney. How do you articulate in an election something so complicated at national health care. Elections are not about detail.

Tends to define the election for sure. You want Obamacare, a bad economy a weak military? Then vote Democrat or not at all. Anyone with a “D” next to their name must go.

Roberts, America’s most recent traitor, was successful in actually finding a way to pick up an Obama turd by the clean end.

I did not think it was possible to hate this administration and the USSC more than I already did but evidently hate has no limit.

While we can possibly, and I restate possibly, forestall commie care by electing Mitt over this obomination in the White Hut, what no election can do is change the hearts and minds of the American people and we have 2 camps with diametrically opposed views. One with a view aligned with the founders which created the greatest country known to mankind and the other half with a view similar to every other failed big government country.

No election will solve this. We must divorce ourselves from those who will never accept our values and conversely we will never accept their complete lack of values.

If at first you do not secede, try try try try again. Thomas Jefferson gave us the tools and the instructions so the ball is now in our court.

.replace with WHAT?

Replace it with what the Congress comes up with. Right now I see many people turning turtle, Democrats are the problem, period.

First, Mr. RomneyCARE is NOT a Republican.

Second, Mr. RomneyCARE cannot win since he
was CHOSEN by the DNC, Soros, and Obama
with the blessing of the MSM.

You contradict yourself.

Romney says he's against Obamacare and will repeal it on Day 1. He then gives some details as to why Obamacare is bad and what he'll do instead.

You respond by saying Romney needs to give more details and that details don't matter.

Which is it?

Sorry, no.

If we are to afraid to speak up about our own problems, then we (the GOP) will keep losing.

I’ll agree with that. The country is far too polarized. Both sides can’t stomach when the other side wins. We could even have open borders for a few years so blue state conservatives/red state libs can migrate over.

>> Romney needed the mandate taken down by the SC <<

What “mandate” are you referring to? It’s not a mandate, never was. It’s a tax!
