roberts is crazy like a fox. the nature of government is to grow - his ruling supports this, he has succeeded in angering the conservatives like no other isue would ever have, helping assure republican success in november...and the left loves him...
as trifecta
And, Mitt Romney is going to save it and nominate better judges to SCOTUS than Roberts?
In making Obamacare a tax and taxing those who do not have insurance, they are putting a burdensome tax on the poorest among us. How can that be “fair”?
Indeed, just like the Colosseum, the masses are being placated with foolish entertainment while the empire crumbles.
I don’t trust the Republicans OR Romney to repeal this. Sure the pubs will pass a bill before the election when they don’t have to worry about it getting signed but after that they’ll be too afraid of being accused of wanting to kill old people. They cave every time.
It’s already in the cards... “vouchers”.
The “poor”, really, it will be de facto race-based, will receive vouchers so they can buy insurance and avoid the penalty.
Rush still thinks there will be an honest election come November?
Remarkable.
What matters now is getting rid of Obama. If he is miraculously re-elected, America is absolutely doomed. While it's fashionable in some conservative circles to sneer at Mitt Romney and state that he will be useless if elected, I contend that we simply can't risk another four destructive years of Obama and that conservatives can put political pressure on Romney to to at least take some halfway conservative actions that will benefit the nation. No, I'm not a big fan of Romney nor do I see him as a any kind of political 'savior'. I do see him as a RINO that will stop the bleeding of the U.S. economy and the steady usurpation of our freedoms. At this point, that would be progress. Otherwise, we'll get Obama unleashed and the inevitable destruction of America from within.
While some will carp that Romney is 'just like Obama' I see that as ridiculous. Not being an ideological conservative does not equate to being a Marxist, like Obama. As so many have so accurately stated today: 'elections have consequences' and we have one coming up in just over 4 months. It can make the difference. Calling Romney names and vowing not to vote for him may seem to some as political sophistication and is certainly a voter's prerogative but I consider that stance to be unwise at this juncture in our nations history because we simply have too much to lose.
It doesn't boil down to November. It boils down to the fact that America has a one party system...one party with 2 faces.
After all, Roberts is a Republican appointee.
What America needs is a second party.
Thank you for a great and wise post
The tree of liberty is on it's last breath and needs a lot of water.
Why don't you wait and see instead of jumping prematurely to conclusions
Yup. Mitt Romney, who has captured the religious-like faith and trust as many FREEPERs' political Messiah and Savior and Lord (well, hey, he's ALREADY a supposed literal "god in embryo" on his way to full-grown Mormon godhood...so 'twas a short step away from ALREADY capturing such adoring devotion)...
Romney will ride in on his White Horse into the White House and fulfill the Mormon White Horse prophecy to save the constitution...and then all will look @ this Mormon "prophesy" and mass-convert (officially -- vs. unofficially) to MittMonism)
(Yup...to hear some tell it, ya just need a RINO or even GoP Prez...and presto...out comes a conservative Supreme Court Justice...as if they never learned the David Souter lesson)
What we have is candidate twins...NOT identitical twins, but twinhood none the less:
Both are big govt
Both have track record of appointing liberal judges
Both support homosexuals as minority class status
Both socialist healthcare pioneers
Both support "choice" (Romney told Katie Couric 12/07 that parents could either give up their offspring for adoptions -- or to "research")
Both have not taken actions to defend monogamy (other than look-good verbal tokenisms, Romney failed to actively defend one-woman, one-man marriage when the Supreme Court justices of MA were guilty of overreach there)
Both are fools re: global warming
Etc, etc. etc.
Obamacare has just as much of a chance at being repealed as Social Security or MediCare. The beast lives and cannot be suffocated. Any attempt at repealing Obamacare will be met with cries of ‘racism’ and we all know how well the Republicans respond to that. They don’t.
If only Romney had decisively disowned RomneyCare a year ago, we would be in so much better shape.
The 0bama campaign is going to run:
“0bamaCare was based on RomneyCare. Romney’s advisors were in the room when we designed 0bamaCare. We agree with Governor Romney that the same basic plan he passed works for the country.”
And they’ll be right.
Ouch.
The first step to recovery is admitting we have a problem.
Listen, go hang yourself then. The fact is we need to vote CONSERVATIVE as much as possible in November. Stop making this about whats his face from Massachusetts. He’s the nominee..deal.
What we need is people voting conservative for their state legislator and governor, and nationally with the congress and senate. This is about having people in place for a decade not just 4 to 8 years as the President. If we had control over the Senate and House at the time Obama’s bad medicine would have been DOA.
It’s about getting people like Walker as Governor.
Romney had to be the liberal surrounded by commies in Mass to govern. Don’t allow him to be surrounded by libs come November. Send as many conservatives to your statehouse and to the congress and senate in DC. Make sure they say they will repeal this monstrosity. It’s bigger than Mitt Romney, who by the way did say he would repeal it first day in office.
