I Agree! At first I was very disappointed with Justice Roberts vote on this issue. But the way he phrased his decision, this act will cause Democrats a huge headache going forward even IF it does not get repealed early 2013. (I am hoping for a repeal - this would for the ENTIRE Act and not just "mandate" idiocy..)

Democrats can now force us to buy/do anything and tax us as much as they wish. We lose.

The Republicans have themselves in part to blame for this whole debacle. If they had stuck to their conservative principles they wouldn’t have damaged their own brand so much. All that time in power and they didn’t cut a single government cabinet. They didn’t even try to shrink government. Instead they waded into things like the whole Teri Schiavo mess, tolerating Duke Cunningham, and creating the TSA.

Bet against whatever Dick Morris says and you’ll win a LOT of bets.

This falls into the: "the other guy has punched me so much, he's really gonna be tired - and then he will be in trouble!" category.

I’ve been thinking through the excrement of yesterday’s decision and this is the only little pony I could find as well.

Vote in November or forever hold your peace.

Roberts tied an anchor around Obama’s neck and shoved him off the dock. He’s snail food.

Sad to say that just means we’ll be swearing in a new President in a country whose constitution was just shredded.

I’ve considered this thoroughly.

As Rush said today, the only reason people think Roberts is brilliant is simply because they didn’t anticipate Robert’s reasoning.

If you can get past that, you begin to realize that Roberts was acting as an activist judge. He has re-written bad law, has neutered the Anti-Injunction Act, and is calling this a penalty and a tax at the same time.

I’ve come to the conclusion the Roberts has taken an enormous unnecessary risk with the future of the United States.

I agree with those predicting this Supreme Court decision on Obamacare will help ensure Obamas defeat in November. After that, who knows?

Although I don't buy into the cynical game of dismissing Romney as just Obama with a Republican label or that we are all totally doomed to serfdom in a communist gulag because the left wins every time while the GOP helps them, I'm very skeptical of Romneys intentions as president (we all know he's a RINO through and through). The GOP well knows that conservatives have few options on election day except to throw away their vote on a hopeless 'independent' or, as I'm sure some of the more cantankerous FReepers will do, simply refuse to vote, thus making it more difficult to oust Obama...but by golly, they'll really show those GOP elites they can't be pushed around and besides, Romney is a a Mormon weirdo!

Obviously, we need a Republican majority in both congressional chambers and majorities that are tilted toward conservatives, but that is a long shot. Romney is a bit of a question mark. Yes, he's nominally liberal (by conservative standards) but he also wants to be popular and signing a repeal of Obamacare would be highly 'controversial' but also get his presidency off to a running start. Whether he'll do that, no one really knows, despite the smug, cynical predictions by those who assume it's all a rigged game and no matter who wins what office, we're all going to end up slaves to the government. That may be but if it ever happens, it will be partly because of citizen apathy and the kind of hyper-cynicism that renders people helpless by choice - or serves as a good excuse for doing nothing while playing seer.
