It looks like the Pubbies are going to slap Holder’s hand and move on. Where are the court filings now that we have contempt? It certainly does not give one much hope that they will corral these mass murderers.

"mass murderers" BUMP! We shall see. Could be part of the Socialist/Totalitarian Theater. RINOS (Republicans Implementing Nuances Of Socialism). They're all the same, advancing a totalitarian agenda. It's like slow jihad / fast jihad. Sooner or later you're in a totally subdued/submissive or murdered situation.

Good post doc, I just wanted to add one thing: The Lefts explanation asks us to assume that the US would go into Mexico to “bust” cartel culprits when we refuse to prosecute these same people, or even try to apprehend them when they are already in clear violation of US law.
Case in point: http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/2901047/posts

That’s not a rational explanation at all. 2,500 weapons to the drug cartels are like a ream of copy paper to a company.

They have no need or desire to pay off any U.S. pols to obtain weapons, including full-auto machineguns, rocket launchers and grenades from non-U.S. sources.

If I was a criminal I would not shoot someone, then throw the gun on the ground and run away

Not just "hit men."

A lot of gang members who kill a lot of people will drop the guns at the crime scene, to ensure that if they're ever caught, they won't be tied to the crime like they would if they had the gun. Besides, the drug cartels don't have any trouble getting replacement guns, and on the world market, full auto AKs are a lot cheaper than even an SKS in the States would be. And the cartels can get them by the container load.

most of the cartel bosses are prolly pissed off at the thought that theyd be stupid enuff to pay the US retail price for semiauto weapons, when they have armories of military grade stuff bought for 1/3 the price...

the flunkies that did the buying got the purchase money from US taxpayers, and the cartels [bosses] most likely didnt have a thing to do with it, except for being the patsy...

Scott Ott (of PJTV and an OH County Commissioner) is right. This is bigger than Watergate. But I fear we no longer have the culture that is willing prosecute “elites” as we did in the past.

Watergate was a second rate burglary. The resulting "scandal" was the media seeing a chance to take down a president hated roundly by that same media.

The difference is that the media today is fully invested in the election and installation of Obama, and they are more than willing to hide what honest "journalists" would realize are criminal acts.

Quite frankly, the media, or what I refer to as "the ministry of propaganda" is willing to overlook uncounted murders, as long as it advances their ideology.

This really isn't anything new. The left resisted the US entering WWII until Hitler attacked Stalin's Soviet Union. And of course there's the NY Times shameful (and evil) hiding of Stalin's atrocities committed against the Ukrainians, reporting how wonderful things were in the Soviet Union while Stalin was systematically starving many tens of millions of civilians. To this day, the NY Times refuses to denounce Walter Durante who reported these lies, and continues to promote the fact that he was awarded a Pulitzer Prize for his Stalinist propaganda, published in the NY Times.

I am still waiting for the MSM coverage that Krauthammer predicted

Talk about being naive

Hell anyone on this site could have told him that wasn’t going to happen

We only prosecute elites if they are of the republican persuasion.

The MSM only covers scandals night after night after night when they are GOP types ( and mostly insignificant at that till they work the public up )

Drives you crazy

Secretary of State Hillary Clinton announced to reporters on a trip to Mexico: "Since we know that the vast majority, 90 percent of that weaponry (used by Mexican drug cartels), comes from our country, we are going to try to stop it from getting there in the first place."

Yeah... because we all know that AK-47's are made in the USA.

As with all Leftists, the end justifies the means. If you want an omelette, you have to break some eggs. Etc., etc.

The ends justify the means.

A few hundred dead Mexicans are a small price to pay for tighter gun control in the USA.
