The awakened giant likes tea

It’s often said, “Be careful what you wish for – you just might get it.”

U.S. Supreme Court Chief Justice John Roberts – once counted among the constitutional originalists on the high court – has granted President Obama’s supreme wish. By inexplicably siding with the court’s left wing and upholding the president’s signature achievement – government-run socialized health care – Roberts has given Democrats a shiny election-year package adorned with a judicial-activist bow.

The excessive celebration has begun. Nancy Pelosi immediately released a statement gloating, “We made history. … We completed unfinished business!”

Exhibiting that characteristic class intrinsic to “progressivism,” other high-level Democrats took to Twitter: “it’s Constitutional. B*tches,” tweeted Patrick Gaspard, executive director of the Democratic National Committee and all-around sexist pig.

The DNC’s new media outreach director, Greg Greene, one-upped his boss: “Overheard in the office: ‘TAKE THAT MOTHER******S!!’”

To his credit, Mr. Obama showed a bit more of a measured response. At least he bothered to abbreviate his sophomoric profanity tweeting about his signature achievement: “Still a BFD OFA.BO/ayPgAZ” (BFD stands for “Big F–king Deal”).

Let me disagree. The awakened giant doe not like tea and the original ones threw it overboard into the water. The “Tea Party” is awakening and will win in a landslide in 4 years.

"Still a BFD"

He's going to be so sorry he ever tweeted that. Yes, it still is a 'BFD' and he'll find out just how big in November.

Time to abolish the 16th Amendment. Note the date. We got along just fine before this travesty was put in place.

Amendment 16

Income taxes

The Congress shall have power to lay and collect taxes on incomes, from whatever source derived, without apportionment among the several States, and without regard to any census or enumeration.

February 3, 1913.

Pick another bill.

We need the 16th Amendment. We need taxes on FOREIGN GOODS.

Buy American.

I have my own opinion about sleeping giants. Since Thursday I have seen the fire in the eyes of conservative leaning folks. A fire exactly like what I saw in 2010 and we know how that worked out. Non conservatives still don’t understand what’s happened and I think their dear leader will never figure it out.

Matt Barber makes the point that this odious Supreme Court ruling will very likely be a Pyrrhic victory for Obama and the Democrats. I agree.

Although some FReeeres will claim that Romney secretly wants socialized health care and won't work to repeal it, I simply don't buy it. He may want a bigger expansion of government involvement in health care than most conservatives are comfortable with (including this one) but he won't commit political suicide and cripple his nascent presidency by allowing Obamacare to stand when two-thirds of the nation's citizens are against it.

There won't be any time to waste between election day and inauguration day because 'Obamacare' starts going into effect early in 2013 and we all know that once a government program starts taxing and offering 'benefits', it is almost impossible to abolish, even with something better. However, I expect that the repeal bill will be ready to go the moment Romney is sworn in.

Like WND's Matt Barber, I believe Chief Justice John Roberts betrayal of the intent of the constitution and his blatant activism on behalf of 'Obamacare' will be the catalyst that finally turns the American people against Obama and the Democrats. Frankly, if this obnoxious Supreme Court ruling that keeps Obamacare alive doesn't do that, nothing will - or when something finally does, it'll be far too late.

Say what? We don't need to make serfs out of Americans with the 16th amendment in order to lay tariffs on foreign goods.

Well I’m probably a minority, though my position is one of future growth.

We are 16 trillion dollars in debt.

16 trillion!

We can forget about that and hope somehow that changes - or we can demand trade is balanced.

I’m for demanding trade is balanced.

Now. Period.

I'm with you. Romney knows the difference between a State doing something stupid and having the Feds force the same on the States. He understands that the Constitution is supposed to limit the Feds and empower the States. There are still those who refuse to wake up and who will continue to try to marginalize Romney to the destruction of the People, but I believe more are finally waking up to the reality of the death of Freedom.

At first, I was disgusted with decision....after thinking about it, I decided this was a political move by Roberts. I know I know, the USSC is to be above that.

Roberts making this a TAX changes everything. Now, it only needs 51 votes to overturn it. If he had ruled it was unconstitutional, obammy would say the repubics stopped all those people from having health care.

I believe this ruling will help us in the future....hoping.

It only takes 51 votes to overturn a "tax", not 60.

And before it can get 51 votes, it has to be brought to the floor of the Senate.

You think Dingy Harry is going to allow that?

Wait. We need the income tax to continue so we can pay down the debt? You must learn the concept of “starving the beast.” Give them a pipeline to our incomes, and the beast will never be starved.

If enough noise is made on both sides, yes. Elections are coming and I believe there are enough on BOTH sides to force it........maybe I'm a dreamer.

I hope you’re right. I picture the rats jumping off the sinking ship, and Dingy Harry is the one pointing the gun at them, forcing them to stay aboard.
