Conservative Anger Growing Over Obamacare Decision
The Examiner ^ | June 30, 2012 | Byron York

I ran into a prominent conservative member of Congress Friday night just before the huge storms moved through Washington. He was, he said, far angrier on the day after the Supreme Court Obamacare decision than he had been the moment he learned Chief Justice John Roberts had joined the Court’s liberal bloc to uphold the individual mandate at the heart of Obamacare. He didn’t resort to histrionics or profanity, but he was spitting mad — and his anger was growing, not diminishing.

A short time later, I saw another conservative lawmaker who said much the same thing. And yet another conservative leader who was in the same frame of mind.

At the same time, a backlash was forming in response to analyses by some formidable conservative writers — George Will, Charles Krauthammer, and others — who argued the Obamacare decision was actually a victory for conservatives because it placed a limit on expansive interpretations of the Constitution’s Commerce Clause. In the Wall Street Journal, Berkeley law professor and former Bush Justice Department official John Yoo called such silver-lining analyses “hollow hope” and wrote that Obamacare is precisely the disaster for conservatives it appears to be

Apparently, these House Conservatives were soooo angry that they went and voted out the pork-laden Highway Bill.

That showed ‘em...

Even if there is a conservative triumph in November, there is so much to do.

He’s in Washington and he speaks to a conservative lawmaker and another and another? How is that even possible?

“All of this anger will be of no use unless it translates into votes to deny Mr. Obama a second term, and to secure both Houses of Congress under Republican Control.”

Sadly that now makes very little difference in the long run. Without a Constitution(limits) upon government we will be dammed to suffer the shifting & self-destructive despotism of democracy.

Winning this federal election or even the next 4 federal elections if it were possible is not going to make much difference now. Eventually either the democrats will lie and cheat their way in or the republicans will become as corrupt as they were in 2006.

Eyther way the political leaders in washington D.C. Will start finding or creating excuse to use their boundless athoirty over every individual to usurp more and more to usurp more and more of our rights and consolidate tighter and tighter control over the political system.

It is in this way that even the democracy Traitor John has imposed will murder itself. As in the case of Rome few if any of us will know, believe, or care until long after it has been an accepted & secured fact. Political leaders will have to see to that fact if their consolidation is to be successive and they will eventually be successful in doing so. They will after all have unlimited tries as each time they fail and we manage to get rid of them anther will take their place and using the same boundless power try again. Without a constitution of civil government limiting their practical power there is nothing to stop them.

I’m sorry to say but our Constitutional republic is effectively dead now thanks to traitor john. If we are to have any hope of reviving it the very nature of our politics must become revolutary. For nothing short of a revolution can restore the chains of the constitution upon civil government. That is after all what a revolution is, a reset.

I think we all agree that taxing (or revenue-raising) is Constitutional. But this wasn’t a function of the revenue-raising/taxing authority. The bill that resulted in Obamacare originated in the Senate, not the House, and the penalty was deliberately portrayed as ANYthing but a tax. So far as I know, that process, that order of law-making, hasn’t changed. How can that “anything-but-a tax” be deemed a “tax” if it didn’t originate as a tax, didn’t follow the normal procedure for becoming a tax?

Does anyone know of a good list of talking points that could be used to make your average TV addict pay attention?

Here’s an understandable synopsis:

I would agree with your point, except that this has been going on for over 80 years now. Not only is the Supreme Court activist on most occasions, the entire judiciary is of a similar ilk. In my own state of Kansas, a very effective campaign in underway to persuade people that they should forgo election of judges in favor of appointment by “nonpartisan” panels composed of prominent citizens and legal professionals. Similar efforts have been adopted or are in progress in other states. The effect will be to guarantee that our judiciary will be an unelected bastion of left wing activists ready to stymie any attempt by conservative voters to turn the tide.

I bet they will draw up the newest taxation plan, its the Galt Tax Mandate.

Its designed to tax those that have pulled all their money from the banks, have paid off all bills, who pay cash and use no credit cards, have successfully eluded the Feds on all property and personal taxation and most importantly cannot have any wages garnished.

The millions that went “Galt” and they will have a penalty tax imposed upon them for failure to participate in the socialistic party Healthcare Act.

I’m actually going to vote for Romney

I will do so as well, and will be stone cold sober when so doing. Several hours afterwards, not so much.

We will have to drag Romney into appointing Justices akin to Thomas, who in turn will give Quisling Roberts little choice but to do his constitutional job for a change.

I have little doubt that eventually they will do something similar. Probably as a measure to force people to buy and sell and “make the economy work” again.

You are absolutely right! Certainly here in Texas, folks are spittin mad over all this.

From open borders, backdoor amnesty, gay marriage/lifestyles and it being forced on our children, perverting and weakening our military to this Obozocare.

People are chompin at the bit to vote this guy outta office.

You know its actually worded as much as twelve times I think in the pages of Obamacare that America must eat its broccoli...or be fined.

So one could call it the Broccoli War of 2012.

Tons of broccoli are dumped on the streets in front of every IRS office all across the nation.

Supermarkets are forced to put security guards in the produce isles because “right wing terrorists” are sprinkling capsicum powder on the broccoli.

School cafeterias are being firebombed after attempts to forcibly make students eat their broccoli.

I know I’m angrier now than when the edict came down a few days ago. I can no longer respect my fellow Americans who mindlessly support being part of a collective.

Makes for truth in some sci fi predictions then?

A future society of the haves and have nots, a society of who has the better healthcare versus who has more individual freedom. An underground barter and currency arises from the iron fisted control of socialistic taxation.

Millions will revert to using gold and silver now fleeing from any federal currency.

The free range rooster crows while the farm fattened rooster sleeps.
