Christians in India's semi-autonomous province of Aceh faced a tense Sunday, July 1, after local authorities ordered the demolition of 20 churches.

Razali Abdul Rahman, the acting regent of Aceh Singkil Regency in Aceh, signed the letter already on April 30, but details recently emerged.

He ordered the closure of 17 Protestant churches, two Catholic churches and one place of worship belonging to followers of a local nondenominational faith...

Rights activists said the announcement came after 16 smaller Christian places of worship were recently closed in the same district.

Rahman ordered members of the targeted congregations "to tear down" the churches themselves.

If a christian nation did this with mosques, the US government would be deploying warships to start the “regime change”.

The country named in the first line of the article should read Indonesia, not India.

Aceh is a province of Indonesia.

Obama will use the US govt as his proxy for his muslim friends....but be ready...it may come down on US soil to tear down protestant and catholic churchs...that man would do any thing for the continued downfall of our great nation....also prepare for a world holy war. Not bible against koran, christians against muslim...

Often times Protestants will sort of look the other way when Catholics are persecuted, thinking their own church is “safe”. Well, guess what?

There's a more descriptive word for it than "gruel" but I won't say it.

Taking poor writing to a whole new level.

“Indonesia Regent”

“Christians in India’s semi-autonomous province of Aceh “

"Often times Protestants will sort of look the other way when Catholics are persecuted, thinking their own church is “safe”. Well, guess what?"

Examples?

Some of us, Protestants, have not forgotten the killing of protestants, such as the Huguenots in France, or the Inquisition in Belgium and Holland.

I thought the same thing.

This group is apparently based in Budapest, so English is probably not native language.

Eventually he’ll probably close those churches that continue to speak out about homosexuality & abortion.
I never thought I would live to see the day when Christians would be persecuted. The end can’t come soon enough for me.
Prayers for America.
