Reuters Poll: Obamacare Is Still Unpopular After High Court Decision

Voter support for President Barack Obama's healthcare overhaul rose after the U.S. Supreme Court upheld it, but most people still oppose the law, according to a Reuters/Ipsos poll on Sunday.

The online survey showed increased backing from Republicans and, crucially, the political independents whose support will be essential to winning the Nov. 6 presidential election.

Meanwhile, Republican leaders in Congress are banking on the fact that voters will have the final word on healthcare in the November elections, and the GOP is betting that the law's unpopularity will be enough to drive Democrats from power. The White House's response? Bring it on.

According to the Reuters/Ipsos poll, 38 percent of independents support the healthcare overhaul in the poll conducted after the court ruled Thursday the law was constitutional. That was up from 27 percent from a Reuters/Ipsos poll taken days before the justices' ruling.

Among all registered voters, support for the law rose to 48 percent, from 43 percent before the court decision.

Republican opposition to the law stayed strong, if somewhat weaker than before the high court ruled. Eighty-one percent of Republicans opposed it in the most recent survey, down from 86 percent in the poll conducted June 19-23.

In some good news for Republicans, the Supreme Court ruling is energizing opposition to the 2010 healthcare overhaul.

In the new poll, more than half of all registered voters — 53 percent — said they were more likely to vote for their member of Congress if he were running on a platform of repealing the law, up from 46 percent before the ruling.

Obama has four months to reverse these numbers.
It can’t be done. Almost nobody is undecided on this issue.

Buh-bye Barry.

Republicans have their work cut out for them. There is non-stop pro-Obamacare propaganda in the press.

The Republicans have to work hard to counter that.

It makes sense but if Obama and Co. can get away with ramming through ObamaCare without anyone being able to debate it or view it’s contents, keep a lid on its culpability in murdering hundereds of Mexicans and two Americans ala Fast and Furious and probably threatening the Chief Justice of the United States, I don’t see how the public’s disapproval really matters all that much.

"Republicans have their work cut out for them. There is non-stop pro-Obamacare propaganda in the press."

Most people loathe this monstrosity- despite the nonsense the media tries to sell them. And they will only loathe it more as the months go on.

“The survey interviewed 991 Americans online from June 28-30”

A worthless poll, taken to support the USSC ruling.
We have to dig deeper into these polls to see what the intent of the poll was. Stay away from Real Clear Politics summary of polls. Its just a dumping ground for biased polls to throw off the true trends.

“Voter support for President Barack Obama’s healthcare overhaul rose after the U.S. Supreme Court upheld it...”

####

Take your pick:

1) Utter idiocy.

2) Abject parastites.

In either case, the future of America is gravely threatened with voters of this ilk.

The RaceMarxist is a huge problem. The damaging proclivities of the the voting populace are a much deeper, more serious problem.

Since the ruling, the liberals have said that this boosts Obama’s re-election chances. They say that Obama is vindicated, yadda, yadda, yadda, and that this translates into voter support.

Are that many voters really persuaded to vote for Obama because of John Roberts’ tortured logic in the Obamacare case??? Really??? That many people have been waiting to decide about the election depending on what the Supreme Court said about Obamacare???? That strains believeability in my opinion.

Though the decision did give a boost to the liberal talking heads and their talking points.

And now they are so bi-partisan. Liberals praising the judicial philosophy of John Roberts is something you didn’t expect to see.

The leftists are insane.

They honestly believe that having the USSC declare Commiecare Constitutional will make Americans bow down to it.

The Americans who are like that already embrace Commiecare.

Those opposed or ambivalent are unmoved by what the men in robes say.

Most Americans want to make their own decisions.

The leftists are punching holes in their own boat.

Previously they were not running on Obamacare because it is unpopular.

Now they are forcing Obamacare into view and making it a top issue of the campaign.

The leftists assume that they will change American's opinion on Obamacare through propaganda, but they already tried this and it didn't work.

Why will it work any better now?

What makes you think Obama can’t steal this election? I will vote against Obama and all Democrats but it may not matter.

"The liberal polls say otherwise. I don't believe anything coming from a liberal. . . ."

The left-wing polls (Pew, Kaiser, etc.) are being pushed out at the behest of the DNC because they want to make it appear that the public is now overwhelmingly (and effectively, permanently) opposed to repealing Obamacare.

They want to put fear into weak minds like McConnell. And they want Conservatives to shut up and stop talking about it, and thus forever close the door in the issue- ain't gonna happen.
