Rasmussen: Conservative Anger Against Obamacare Hitting 'Stratospheric Levels'

Conservative interest in the presidential election hit “stratospheric levels” following last week’s Supreme Court ruling upholding Obamacare, noted pollster and author Scott Rasmussen tells Newsmax.TV.

“All that did was energize conservatives,” declared Rasmussen in an exclusive interview on Monday. “The conservative interest in the election was already much higher than that of moderates and liberals. It went up to really stratospheric levels right after the ruling. We don’t know if that will continue or if it’s just a temporary response to the news cycle.”

Obamacare has been the driving force behind the Tea Party since early 2010 when Scott Brown shocked the country by winning Ted Kennedy's old senate seat - the first time in decades that Massachusetts had a Republican senator. Scott Brown's winning campaign message was that he'd be the deciding vote to stop Obamacare.

Well despite Brown's election, the Democrats found a way to cram Obamacare down our throats anyway, which led to the huge GOP victories later that year in the congressional mid-terms. Many elected officials who supported Obamacare were driven from office.

The Tea Party movement continued on. Christie's win in New Jersey. Walker's win in Wisconsin. Then a Republican (Bob Turner) won Weiner's seat in Brooklyn/Queens - unheard of!

So if "conservative anger" is hitting stratospheric levels, once can only imagine what this November is going to bring.

You are entitled to that view and you certainly express it well -\\I do suggest you stick to tiddlywinks or pocket pool.

The chief justice of the supreme court - no matter how convoluted his rationale is - is not playing games or gotcha with politics.

His authored decision in the plurality is a marked departure from concepts of limited government, states rights, tax authority, enumerated powers, and general welfare.

The fact that it was (in dicta at least) 8-1 that the federal government can enact a one payer health care system is a giant leap. Scalia. et al all agreed the government can permissibly enact a one- payer government health care system today.

There are around 14 million self employed people in the US. They are not stupid. Add in their families and that is a pretty decent sized voting block.

Obama has lost probably 90% of their votes with the sword of obamacare taxes hanging over them.

The trouble is that there isn’t anyone conservative enough to vote for for any office. I have true conservative principles, apparently unlike you.

There should be more people like Mary. You are just a poser compared with her and me.

Funny, but Palin and Santorum will both be voting for Romney.

Obama thanks you for your support.

I.m from England and understand what health care is about over there and to put it in basic terms IT FRIGGING SUCKS.

Yeah...and started the same way...

Socialist Attlee promised the war weary Brits and returning soldiers "free health care for you"..."we will take care of you"...vote for the Labour party.

...and booted Winston Churchill out and the rest is a sad story.

No, I don’t expect to change any minds here. Those that are still super glued to their seat on the ABR train a couple days after the obamacare decision will never change their mind.

I will do volunteer GOTV work and hope to educate some mush brained “moderates” then. None of them here!

“Romney will lose like 2 3s in a poker game because millions of conservatives will not let him be crammed down our throat. We will not “ hold our nose”!! We will not compromise our beliefs . To Hell with romney. These Republican establishment people won their last election with tax and spend Bush!! IT IS OVER!!”

You are nothing but a selfish, spoiled brat! Romney wasn't crammed down anybodies throats; he was duly nominated in our states primaries. You are simply pi$$ed your choice didn't win in the primaries. Neither did mine, but instead of acting like a selfish SOB, I'm getting behind our GOP nominee to defeat the Marxist currently destroying our nation.

That fact that you have more contempt and outrage for Romney, even after you've witnessed the Marxist's destruction of our country the past three years makes you one, pathetic, POS! You are nothing but a Pro-Obama FReeper!

Levin had a great Native American caller last week. He was talking about the Indian Health Service. He said they joke “Don’t get sick after July!” because the funding runs out!

We need to hear more about the IHS since that is apparently an HHS fedgov program. A good preview of the horror show we can expect from kenyancare.

If Romney hadn't supported abortion, I'd be pushing for him.

I can't do it.

You do what you need to, and I'll do what I need to. I won't attack you for it. Please do the same.

“WE ARE DONE.”

Roberts has perverted the court politically. He bewilders the mind of everyone giving half a look at his legal position & rationale.

And there are a lot of lookers.

Don’t go slitting your wrists on us Chief!

Good comment. Will the zeal of the good folks spread to others, though? I see a lot of apathy around me. Or what looks like apathy.

“And your idea of going to war is to let Obama win so he can have four more years as a lame duck to really work his magic.”

Holy crap! Can you imagine Lil’ o letting it all hang out?

The embarassment alone of witnessing that spectacle!!!

God help us!

Unlike you and other kooks “stupidly” helping Obama win a second term? And yes, I am in panic over Obama winning a second term and finishing off the destruction of our nation.

You anti-Romney types are “flailing” in your abject stupidity.

Yeah, you are.

You are trying to win a chess match after your king is taken.

You are trying to win a super bowl after the fourth quarter is over, you are down 98 to 0, and there is no season next year.

Game, set, match, Windflier.

There’s a way, but there is no will for the way, nor is there any way for the that way to succeed.

One thing I have learned is that conservatives aren’t very smart, they are nice, but they aren’t smart. They do not realize, nor did they realize, the game that was being played. Nor do they realize that they lost and the game is over.

America is no longer a free country, and that is all there is to it.

I worked damn hard for my health benefits.

Commuted every day for hour and a half each way into the sun, worked 10-12 hour days for 22 YEARS.

Took a financial hit upon getting laid off to opt for staying in their benefit pool.

Now it’s all going for a bunch of freeloaders?

This was the straw that broke the camel’s back.
