Romney Campaign Declares Cease Fire on Health Care.

July 3, 2012 Romney Campaign Declaring Cease Fire on Health Care Posted by Staff

In the aftermath of the Supreme Court health care ruling, the early conventional wisdom was that an unfavorable health care ruling at the court would be good for Republicans politically, even as it was a serious policy setback for conservatives. But that's not shaping up to be the case. Mitt Romney, after giving a brief statement decrying the decision, has been virtually silent on criticizing the health care law. He's been on vacation and his campaign has been giving off clear signals that it doesn't want to make health care a major part of the election.

His senior adviser, Eric Fehrnstrom, went on MSNBC Monday and ended up agreeing with the Obama campaign's spin that, even though the Supreme Court declared the individual mandate a tax, it really still is a penalty. Significantly, his campaign appears to want to take the most potent argument against the president on the health care subject off the table, likely out of fear the Romney himself is vulnerable when it comes to his health care record. He, after all, supported a mandate as governor of Massachusetts, and doesn't want that to be considered a tax, either.

Of course, he caved. He’s nothing but Obama-lite. His RomneyCare is nothing but ObamaCare-lite. Sure, thanks to the not so grand old party.

I've read this several times this week, but from what Mitt HIMSELF has said, he intends to work to overturn Obamacare. Maybe his spokesman is trying to limit the media pouncing on Mitt, and giving him lots of bad press, which would be seen by all the regular folks out there, who are swayed by the MSM.

Regardless, WE need to work to take back the Presidency AND the Congress, otherwise NOTHING will get done. Instead of eating our own, why not ELECT our own?

When to give up.

A big-city, California, lawyer went duck hunting in rural Colorado. He shot
and dropped a bird, but it fell into a farmer's field on the other side of a
fence. As the lawyer climbed over the fence, an elderly farmer drove up on
his tractor and asked him what he was doing. The litigator responded, "I
shot a duck and it fell into this field, and now I'm going to retrieve it."
The old farmer replied, "This is my property, and you are not coming over
here."
The indignant lawyer said, "I am one of the best trial attorneys in the U.S.
and, if you don't let me get that duck, I'll sue you and take everything you
own."The old farmer smiled and said, "Apparently, you don't know how we do
things in Colorado. We settle small disagreements like this with the
Colorado Three-Kick Rule." The lawyer asked, "What is the Colorado
Three-Kick Rule?" The Farmer replied, "Well, first I kick you three times
and then you kick me three times, and so on, back and forth, until someone
gives up." The attorney quickly thought about the proposed contest and
decided that he could easily take the old codger. He agreed to abide by the
local custom.
The old farmer slowly climbed down from the tractor and walked up to the
city feller. His first kick planted the toe of his heavy work boot into the
lawyer's groin and dropped him to his knees. His second kick nearly wiped
the man's nose off his face. The barrister was flat on his belly when the
farmer's third kick to a kidney nearly caused him to give up. The lawyer
summoned every bit of his will and managed to get to his feet and said,
"Okay, you old coot! Now, it's my turn!"
The old farmer smiled and said, "No, I give up. You can have the duck!"

People want Romney to go on the offensive now, not understanding that no offensive can be sustained forever, and issues have a tendency to peter out quickly in election years. If Mittens is keeping his powder dry, waiting to see the whites of their eyes, esp given Obamas massive fundraising advantage then no problem (he still needs to jab and counterpunch, tho). I’ll start being critical if I don’t see a sustained effort from the Convention forward.

I'm about as pissed off as I can possibly be about the fact that 0bama's 1,200 ILLEGAL waivers go unchallenged.. WTF is going on here? How can he unilaterally determine who complies with the 0bamacare tax and who doesn't?

Here is the list of companies that 0bama has EXEMPTED from 0bamacareTAX.. Most all are UNION agencies or companies:

http://cciio.cms.gov/resources/files/approved_applications_for_waiver.html

THIS MUST NOT BE ALLOWED TO STAND, AND IF IT DOES STAND THEN I SEE 50 MORE WAIVERS UNDER ROMNEY.. ONE FOR EACH STATE!

Well, if there’s a house/senate/president republican...the tax portion of it can be repealed by mere majority. The rest will then be slowly dismantled.

What a surprise . . . NOT.

We are in incredibly deep trouble, and Romney has no intention of fixing ANY of these problems. If Obama is 100% bad for our country, I’d say that Romney is about 95% bad for our country. Voting for him will not fix a single thing, but just encourage the GOP-e to continue putting up losers, whose job is simply to go along with the destruction in a bipartisan kind of way, just as long as they can continue to gobble up pork.

What to do? I don’t know. No immediate answers are in sight. But I cannot vote for a family-destroying, baby-killing, socialist cult leader who is worshipped by his admiring subordinates and thinks he is every bit as deserving of that worship as Obama does.

The economy times three is going to be the issue. Healthcare might just be a distraction that he will allow others to get into. Economy, Economy, economy.

I believe all of us who were supporters of Newt or Santorum said such during the primaries.

The GOP establishment does care, they are simply deluded into believing the myth that the moderate vote carries elections. And as I argued often, Newt was the only candidate in the field with the ability to articulate the real case against the totalitarian takeover of Obama and his puppet masters. Now we are stuck with Mitt and even I could write the Democrat strategy to defeat him.

IDIOT!! It was the ONLY thing motivating the base, and we had millions of democrats working with us!
Once again, for the sake of getting along with the MSM, the spineless wimp snatches victory from the jaws of defeat.

Romney thinks this will hurt him because of Romney care. Romney care was a STATE ISSUE. That's all he has to say - let the states create their own policies. States are SUPPOSE to be sovereign.
