Allen West questions Romney team

Rep. Allen West suggested late Monday that Mitt Romney re-evaluate his campaign advisers, hours after top Romney aide Eric Fehrnstrom said on TV that the individual mandate of President Barack Obama’s health care law is not a tax.

“It’s a tax,” the Florida Republican told Greta Van Susteren of Fox News. “I think that the governor probably needs to look at who he has within his circle of advisers, and probably get … them to provide the right type of counsel and advice.”

I agree w/Col. West.

Lot's of folks are calling on Romeny to re-evaluate his team. Even Establishment types like Fred Barnes (on today's Laura Ingraham show) are telling Romney to get serious and get tough with a new team.

I am confused now. If West says it is a tax, then he is disagreeing with Scalia, Kennedy, Thomas, and Alito. Why are we getting bogged down in this minutiae?

Tax or penalty it is bad. We need to communcate this.

Romney should follow his OWN counsel. He should do anything to discredit Obama. I have serious doubts about this idiot that I am forced to vote for.

Mr. RomneyCARE has ALWAYS defended Obama.
From the missing BC, to TARP,
to heling al Qaeda, MITT ROMNEY has been
Obama’s biggest supporter.

Team Romney waged a drawn out attack on Gov. Palin
on the eve of Election 2008 for the One.

How can GOPers that are just business guys compete with the polish of Hollywood?

What was Reagan’s line of work again?

The only reason to call this a tax is to make the democrats squirm. It has been declared a tax by a majority of the SCOTUS as they contort themselves, like Olga Korbut, trying to justify a monetary penalty for not buying a product from a business. There are plenty of other tax hikes hidden in Obamacare for everybody, whether they buy healthcare coverage or not.

Who should we support as an alternative to Obama?

Ferhnstrom or whatever his name is should go, and Romney should admit he made a mistake with Romneycare - he was a governor, was tying to help the people, it turned out badly, people are losing coverage, he sees the error of his ways, Obamacare is just as bad, etc etc etc - then move on.......

When West either retracts or refines his support for “justice for Trayvon*", then I’ll pay him mind.

To date, he has not redacted, redefined, or said "you-got-it-wrong-cracker-this-is-what-I-really-said".

Did West just move to the front of Romney’s ‘no way in heck’ VP list?

As Mark Levin said yesterday it doesn’t really matter whether it is a tax, a penalty, or a cucumber, it is wrong for this country and we need to drive that point home.

Tax or penalty it is bad. We need to communcate this.

Exactly!

The only message coming from the GOP needs to be "Repeal and Replace with a Free-Market Approach".

Sadly, with Mitt Romney clinging to HIS Individual Mandate approach to fixing this problem, we will be getting more of the same from his "Replacement".

And please, no mention of RomneyCare being a States Rights issue.

Socialism, whether applied at the Federal or State level, is still Socialism and is still Evil.

100% agree. If it is ruled a tax, then it can be destroyed as one. But I am sticking with Levin and the court conservatives.

Col. West's comments throughout the interview were right on target. Romney's team needs to seize the moment for sounding a clear trumpet on behalf of freedom for individuals versus the tyranny and slavery offered by the redistributionist-in-chief.

Obama, Pelosi and Reid deceived "the People" in order to accomplish a power grab called "affordable health care." They continue to deceive by refusing to call a tax a tax, and the opposing candidate's representative says his boss agrees with them?

Unbelievable!

I am not going to argue about socialism, I agree. The free market approach is the portability across Statelines.

You are half right.

The only message coming from the GOP needs to be "Repeal."
