Taxation is to fund common needs, like security and certain infrastructure.

Health care is both a common and individual need. Common in that acute care is provided to all. It’s OK to tax for that, and we already do at various levels.

Provision of individual needs, funded by taxation; is nothing more than outside control of the individual. It should be individual choice.

We fought a revolution over this a while back, and we may have to again.
