U.S. Moves Forward with Southern Keystone Pipeline
CBN News ^ | 03 July 2012

Posted on 07/05/2012 6:57:35 AM PDT by Lorianne

The U.S. government is moving forward with a portion of the Keystone pipeline, following the lead of many Americans who say they want it.

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers has approved the southern section of the pipeline running from Cushing, Okla., through Texas to Port Arthur on the Gulf Coast.

TOPICS: Business/Economy; Government
KEYWORDS: energy; oil; pipeline
Note: The pipeline will be going to Port Arthur TX, not Houston which is about 90 miles west of there. From multiple articles I've read, the media seems not to know this

Has anyone figured out how to teleport the oil from Canada to Oklahoma yet? If so, why not simply teleport it all the way to Texas?

Obama will be touting this during the campaign. I can hear it now:

"I approved the Keystone pipeline"

When in fact, he had nothing to do with this approval. Mark my words.

This part of the pipeline was moving forward whether the U.S. “government” wanted it or not.

There is a lateral line as part of the project to the Houston Area.

There is no shortage of oil in Cushing, Oklahoma. Multiple projects are adding pipelines from Cushing to gulf coast refineries.

The original Keystone Pipeline XL project did not go all the way to Cushing either, it stopped in Steel City, Nebraska and picked up again in Cushing to the South.

Perfect FedGov make work project. Part of a pipeline, with the oil now sold to the Chinese and headed to Canada’s West coast. Perfect.

Thanks Lorianne. Zero’s sabotage of this important project has, however, been successful.

They plan on using the tanks Mr. Scott built in Star Trek 4, The Voyage Home. Instead of transporting whales, they will be transporting crude.

“Has anyone figured out how to teleport the oil from Canada to Oklahoma yet?”

Vote for Romney? He’ll approve it, no more shenanigans. At least that is what I believe.

The media knows, they just don't want to report it.
Jefferson County is "the Big Liberal" county down here.

BTW, they also don't make much hay of who owns the refineries down here.

Port Arthur Refinery

Motiva Enterprises has expanded its Port Arthur Refinery (PAR) in Texas by 325,000 barrels per day (bbl/d), taking total capacity to 600,000 bbl/d. Following its expansion, the PAR is now the largest refinery in the USA. Shell owns 50% of Motiva; the remaining 50% is owned by Saudi Aramco.

The expansion is now completed.

Interesting info about who owns the refineries.

However, I looked up Jefferson county. They have a Republican Rep in Congress and they went 51% for Obama in 2008 .... sounds like they aren’t all that liberal.

Do you have any idea of the years of effort to elect that Rep. or the subtle, yet untiring, effort of individuals in daily conversations with the everyday people who live here to even get that outcome?

Think climbing uphill dragging a boulder behind.

Go back further than 2008 to understand that.
Your short term analysis doesn't show the long term progression to the point we stand at today.

I’m sure you’re right and its probably a big union area.

Still, currently it doesn’t seem all that liberal. Also, I would bet that people there are FOR the pipeline because it will bring jobs and that would sway political opinion. Not just the pipeline itself the increase in refining, should the whole thing ever get built. Someone seems to be thiking long term.

It has been waning in the last two to three decades though the unions are still here to some effect.

Still, currently it doesn’t seem all that liberal.
Yeah, currently. Try Jack Brooks to get a clue as to how far we've come!

Also, I would bet that people there are FOR the pipeline because it will bring jobs and that would sway political opinion.
They're so for it it isn't funny. It seems that some people are so worried about the changing voting trends that people were sent down here to make sure that voter suppression/intimidation was not an issue.

Someone seems to be thiking long term.
Hmmmmm...just might be.
