Poll Find 60% of Physician Leaders Support Supreme Court Decision on ACA
Wall Street Journal MarketWatch ^ | 7/5/2012 | Self

Of course that is the headline. A look at the facts which generated this headline are somewhat telling.

First this is an unscientific poll generated by sending an email to 9,500 physician leaders who are members of the American College of Physician Executives (ACPE).

Second, the inquiry drew only 617 responses.

Third, 377 said they supported JR and the Supreme's ruling.

An honest appraisal of the results would indicate that there should be at least four categories of positions, approve, disapprove, unsure and no opinion.

The no opinions have it, 8883 to 388 to 191 to 35. So 94% of these people have no opinion? Yeah Right.

Of course that would mean that 4% approve... Hmmmm.

My point is that this survey conducted by the ACPE is not at all informative it is just manipulated data. But I would bet my bottem dollar that dims will be citing this "poll result."

Finally, keep in mind that the question was about approving of the Supreme Court ruling not about approving of the Act itself and there might be some variance in those numbers too.

One more thing, the article in WSJ Marketwatch has incorrect numbers, http://www.acpe.org/ which ran the survey has the numbers they think they got.

"Executive physicians are the lazy traitors who don't want to work seeing patients and are able, in our increasingly socialized system, to sell out the working doctors by going hard left as administrators for the feds, insurers, hospital systems, pharma, etc."

I piqued my own curiosity and did a search to see how many "Physicans" there are in the US...according to the FSMB (Federation of State Medical Boards), whatever club that is, there are slighly over 850,000.

So that entire "Physician Leaders" outfit is comprised of no more than 1.1% of the Docs... which again begs the question: Why does the Wall Street Journal MarketWatch think this is INFORMATION???

This survey is BS

My brother is a Medical Admin consultant for a number of practices in South Florida. None of the doctors he represents wants ObamaCare

And these are not conservative doctors. My brother has to remind me “OK, chill on the Rush conservative talk around Dr so-and-so” when I meet one his clients. These are quite liberal doctors...but know that ObamaCare pretty much kills their businesses

Most Drs. are crap-scared of ObamaCare

Physician leader = insurance, hospital company executives or academics. Insurance and hospital executives are crony capitalists, and academics are Leftist ideologues. These guys are also AMA members.

Don’t worry, the physicians in private practice get economics and business and they absolutely HATE 0-care.

You are absolutely correct. For the most part, you wouldn't want any of these people treating anyone. Medicine is one of those professions (among many I'd bet) in which those doing the work are way too busy to watch their own backs, and thus they are vulnerable to those who don't actually see patients and spend most of their time playing ‘politics’ and accomplishing little.

This survey is BS on methodolgical basis as well.

There could very likely be a response bias. Perhaps all the liberals emailed each other to respond like we Freepers freep a poll.
