The 3-year-old son of a San Jose police officer died after he was shot in his family's Gilroy home Thursday, police said.

The boy, Preston Orlando, was shot with a handgun in the home on the 7500 block of Kentwood Court just before 5 p.m., Gilroy police said. He died on his way to a hospital.

California, and especially the Bay Area, has gun storage laws designed to make a defensive gun impossible to retrieve and use in time to defend against a home invasion or night time burglary, or face mandatory prison felonies if it is discovered unsecured.

Maximum sentence prosecution against civilians is certain.

...against civilians...

Yep, he’s a cop so they’ll let this slide and actually I think the law already has an exemption for law enforcement and politicians anyway. Too bad for the 3 year old.

So surprised.....

I have just posted four articles from the San Francisco Chronicle, and all four have the common thread of complete lawlessness, corruption and incompetence of Bay Area police and prosecutors in the Marxist utopia of urban and suburban Californicate.

Mao would be proud.

I realize that the gun laws in CA are especially, inherently wrong. And at the same time, stories like this focus my admittedly feeble intellect more on the boy who has died, and his parents, whether his father’s an LEO or not. That part alone is truly horrible.

As an aside, I’d love to see the gun laws there changed for the better, as well as the prosecution (in the case of gun owners, generally speaking).

I was never so happy as when the moving van pulled up to 16th Avenue on December 1, 2007 and the movers loaded my stuff onto their truck, bound for the Sacramento valley.

By the time I finished my 12 years of hell living in the bay area, and 7 years of torture living in the San Francisco city limits, I was ready for scorched earth measures on the way out.

I swear, if it was neither sin nor crime, I would have put a torch to the entire city of San Francisco and just let it burn. I have a chilled bottle of champagne on hand I’m going to pop open after the 8.5 magnitude quake has wracked San Francisco. I’m going to sit in front of the TV sipping champagne and watching huge plumes of black smoke rise over the city as helicopters pan down on the shatter buildings, homes and streets.

Every time I see a gay parade flag laying amid the ruins or set fire to, I’m going to cheer.

Every time I see a smashed billboard of two faggots holding hands amid the smouldering ruins, I’m going to cheer.

Every times I see a crushed and twisted car with a bumper sticker “Obama” or “coexist” or “keep tahoe blue” or “save the whales” or “how can you trust me with a child if you can’t trust me with a choice”, I’m just going to go hoarse screaming words of approval.

Every time I see them interview another homeless yuppie scum from Pacific Heights wearing their Che Guevera shirts, I’m going to cheer and clap.

Call me a heartless evil bastard but I’m going to tape all the coverage and watch it over and over every time my government puts the squeeze on me tighter from global warming, or Stormwater rules, or Smart growth or UN control, or higher taxes, or cutting my social security payments, or SCOTUS robbing me of my rights or banning my lone firearm that survived the canoe accident.

I’m going to watch. I’m going to smile. I’m going cheer. And I will have tears of joy re-living again the suffering and plight of those who inhabit that modern Sodom and Gomorrah.

I will see it as it is, the hand of God smiting the unrighteous and it will fill me with joy.

Every time they interview some head-to-toe tatooed, pierced, and dyed freak, I’m goign to cheer.

Every time I see a crushed Prius, I’m going to cheer.

Every time they interview a newly homeless San Franciscan, but they can’t because the interviewee can’t speak a single word of converstational English, I’m going to cheer.

Every time I see an anti-miliary sign strewn among the wreckage and smoldering waste, I’m going to cheer.

Every time I see the twisted remains of a black BMW, I’m going to cheer in honor of the scumulent asswipe that caused me so much stress by cutting me off and then immediately slamming on his brakes, that I clenched my teeth so hard I broke 2 teeth. He owes me $6,000 for bone grafts and implants, not that I can collect from a guy I’ll never know. But I will collect in my heart when I see the twisted wreckage of a mashed black BMW under a collapsed gay bath house, and I’ll dream it was he.

I know how you feel, I have lived here for more than sixty years from when 15 miles outside of San Francisco was paradise, and the city wasn't too bad.

All the local leftists think I am the meanest old codger on the planet when all I do is give 'em their own leftie PC policy back to 'em when their stuff is vandalized and stolen, and their kids get burned by drugs and gangs. I express sympathy for the "misguided, disadvantaged, legitimately angry, youts trapped in such a racist society". Their kids should have known better, and can do the time and pay the fine.

Why are we ‘civilians’?

Is there a war going on?

To hell with you idiots calling citizens of this nation ‘civilians’.

Why are we ‘civilians’? As opposed to government employees.

Is there a war going on? Yes.

To hell with you idiots calling citizens of this nation ‘civilians’ OK, it's a free country. For a while.

But there are also legal workers, legal residents, legal aliens, and illegal aliens here, too.

“Every time I see the twisted remains of a black BMW”

Whoa! I was with you every sentence until that one! That’s a broad brush you paint BMW driver’s with there Van Gogh!

But if it were to happen that you see a mangled and twisted BMW, be assured, the driver and passengers are far more likely to survive than with other makes.

I guess you could be glad of that! I sure hope it’s not my baby!

It is not so much broad brush but that there are plenty of black BMWs in San Francisco, and more than a few of them are likely to be subject to the 8.0 earthquake trash compactor. I don’t hold all drivers of black BMWs in contempt, just that should I see a crushed and mangled black BMW, it most certainly fill me with glee resulting from a latent desire for vengeance on the idiotic jackass that cut me off and slammed on his brakes and caused me to break 2 teeth.

As I type, I have had to go through 2 bone grafts and eat my dinner from a blender. The bone grafts went well, and the next step is implating the sockets that the posts for the false teeth will lock into. At a cost of $2,100 a piece, of which my dental care provides $0. Nothing. $4,200 out of pocked for me just for that PORTION of the procedure.

If I ever found the guy in that black BMW, I would do more than just slash every tire and smash every window on it. I would key the entire thing as well. I want my $6,000 in Teutonic Bavarian blood.

Here is my standard rap on images:

<img src="http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/a/a3/Bobdobbs.png"><p>
<img src="http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/a/a3/Bobdobbs.png" width="30%">

<img src="http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/a/a3/Bobdobbs.png" width="1%"> .
gets you:

.

J. R. "Bob" Dobbs receding into infinity...

<img src="http://mumble.com/image.jpg"> substitute the actual source of the image for http://mumble.com/image.jpg This image must be out on a server on the web someplace, not on your machine. This is why people have flickr and picassa accounts. You can easily find out the URL of an existing picture on the web by right-mousing over it and selecting Open Image In New Tab. This will open a tab on your browser containing only that image. The URL of that tab is the one to use as your src="" value.

Some of the photo storage sites on the web (flickr) try to drive web traffic to their site to harvest advertising by providing a convenient pointer to their site that isn't a URL to a .jpg To get the proper URL try right mousing over the image and select Open Image in New Tab. This should get you the naked image itself, without all of the surrounding advertising. This is the URL you want to use.

Size: You can easily vary the size of a given image by specifying it. The native size of the J. R. "Bob" Dobbs picture above is 324x216 pixels. Typical screen pixels per inch numbers for normal displays are in the range of 75 to 150 so the original Dobbs'Head will likely appear on your screen somewhere between 2.88 to 1.44 inches wide.

The next row of Dobbs'Heads are scaled to the width of the enclosing container. We use the width because its value is mostly apparent on the screen. The value of the container's height is less so. The first Dobbs'Head is scaled to 30% of the width of the container. The next at about half that, and so forth... This produces a line of attractive Dobbs'Heads receding into infinity that occupies about half the width of your page, all without needing to know how wide your page is. The size of the images will change if you grab the edge of the page and make it wider or thinner. This is the reason you want to scale images (and anything else, really) by percentages rather than pixels.

In the past it was best to keep your scaling to powers of 2 to minimize scaling artifacts. Current smoothing algorithms and processor speeds make that pretty much unnecessary. Remember that scaling up will not introduce new detail into the existing picture.

Stationary images usually end with .jpg or some variation. Moving images on this forum are only possible using images which end in .gif The .gif format allows for short sequences of stationary images to be presented like a very tiny movie. Currently the forum does not appear to allow embedded video.

Try this directly on the end of the whole deal. Or thinkg of it as this: < img src=PICTURE_LINK_HERE > ...except after you put the real link in place of "PICTURE_LINK_HERE", remove the first space between the first arrow and the img... "< img", and then remove the last space between your link and the last arrow... "PICTURE_LINK_HERE >" You DON'T keep the words "PICTURE_LINK_HERE". That has to be replaced with the actual html location for the picture you want to post.

I left the hell of the bay area and live in a small conservative valley town about an hour north of Sacramento. I have a few years to retirement.

My mother is 80 years old and when she starts needed full time care, I’ll retire and provide it. I’m not putting here in a home. She may make it to 100, I don’t know. But as she is up their in age, I just don’t feel right leaving California when she might need me to care for her.

That’s the breaks.
